Planes of Existence
The Paint on the Canvas
The Planes of Existence comprise any realms located in or around The Astral Sea, between the celestial bodies of Ashra and Boda . The various realms are categorized into five types of planes: Material, Quasi-material, Elemental, Celestial, and Transcendent.
The Material Plane
The only realm located in the Material Plane is Cynos, and they are essentially synonymous.
The Quasi-Material Planes
The Quasi-Material Planes were formed at the same moment as the birth of Cyros, and they exist in a parallel state alongside the Material Plane. Neither Ashra nor Boda holds any dominion over the Quasi-Material Planes.
The Ethereal Plane, a realm parallel to Cynos and a transitional plane between Cynos and the Astral Sea.
The Feywild, a realm parallel to Cynos, overflowing with an abundance of life.
The Shadowfell, a realm parallel to Cynos, barren and nearly void of life.
The Elemental Planes
Dimensions from which all matter in the Universe originates, the Elemental Planes exist as aspects of Ashra the Sun and Boda the Moon.
The Elemental Plane of Air, under the dominion of Ashra.
The Elemental Plane of Fire, under the dominion of Ashra but corrupted by Boda.
The Elemental Plane of Earth, under the dominion of Boda.
The Elemental Plane of Water, under the dominion of Boda.
The Celestial Planes
Like the Elemental Planes, the Celestial Planes exists as aspects of Ashra and Boda, but are less primal in nature and more deeply reflect both the good and evil sides of the Sun and Moon. They also inadvertently became the final resting places for mortals who die on Cynos, attracting souls of the appropriate alignment.
Mount Celestia , lawful-good and under the dominion of Ashra
The Nine Hells , lawful-evil and under the dominion of Ashra
Arborea , chaotic-good and under the dominion of Boda
The Abyss , chaotic-evil and under the dominion of Boda
The Celestial Bodies
Though they exist in the Astral Sea, Ashra and Boda themselves are not Planes of Existence, rather they are celestial beings of their own right. They can be seen and even, under the right circumstances, communicated with by mortals.
The Transcendent Planes
Everything in the known Universe exists within the Astral Sea with only two exceptions: the Positive Energy Plane and the Negative Energy Plane. These two Planes surround the Astral Sea and provide the foundation upon which the entire Universe is built. Very, very few individuals ever even approached knowledge of their existence, and those that did could still only theorize based on other observable facts of the Universe.
