Gratosoglio is bordered by agricultural territory on the west and east sides, and butts up against Milan proper in the north. It’s about the same size and density as
Corsico, and also like Corsico it was a part of the militarized zones. However, unlike Corsico, it’s location right smack in the middle of the food supply made it hotly contested, and the majority of the original architecture did not survive the conflict.
Now Gratosoglio has been rebuilt by a couple of enterprising real estate corporations, resulting in boxy, quick-build, cookie-cutter apartment buildings clustered around equally boxy and cramped “town centers.”
