Tily Lisliqas Lisgaalasel Lock-Guardian Skr-Vrin
A Rinni soldier of the Kuisraki Tribefleet with a history of animal control, a surprisingly deep background in veterinary medicine, and friends in both high and low places.
Rather than let her elaborate tailored robes speak for themselves, Tily wears a patched Rupeean Ranger's cloak as a poncho over the armour, falling past her waist, its lower edge studded with synthetic leather strips bearing small handwritten inscriptions. The strips are momentos, and she adds one more for each stage of her pilgrimage she performs for her tribe.
Tily bears a short, slim-bladed power sword as befits an adept of the Lock-Guardian caste and will tape the blade to its hilt for the sake of polite company rather than disarm herself. In times of conflict she has access to a customised low-velocity Rupeean Jz-1 carbine (still almost her own height) for which she only ever loads tranquiliser darts.
Life in the VDF taught Tily sympathy for those she must act against, even by the standards of other Rinni, and she aims not to hurt or cause harm if she possibly can. The choice of tranquilisers in place of more useful coilgun darts or canister shells is a large part of the process, accepting risk in combat in order to not threaten the long-term health of the "patient". However acts of cruelty will make her flip her perspective entirely and respond with a cold ruthlessness and calculated violence that can shock those who know her, and in quieter moments disgusts her too.
Likes sweet foods, even if she can't take off her helmet to sample local delicacies in the field, and apparently knows far more about treats than someone with her busy day job probably should. Should she run low or spot new sweets, her Rinni scavenger's instincts will run wild and she will happen to "find" unattended treats that will fit into a sterile ration bag for later. Tily has been known to accept a bribe if tasty enough.
Choosing the name "Lisgaalasel" as her second patrynomic is highly unusual - it marks her out as protégé of the Rupeean princess turned VDF agent Gaala Val Sel Uen and places the fennec Ranger on a pedestal as one of her very life's inspirations. Curiously she chose to use the informal version of Gaala's name, a clear claim of familiarity and affection and she may be one of only three people alive in the galaxy who would do so. Perhaps a genuine act of honour and devotion, or perhaps some pointed teasing for an old and trusted mentor.
As a Skr-Vrin pilgrim, as well as a tribal guard and police officer, Tily has the experience, connections and expertise to speak with foreign militaries as an equal. In times marred by war and instability, Tily is often the only one who can pave a safe path for her tribe. Whether by friendly words and diplomacy, or by the point of her guardian blade.
Appearance
Around 120 cm height and a loose-limbed, athletic build. Identifiable by a featureless brass-tinted visor and a finely tailored harness of tactical armour fitted around her environment suit and built into her personal robes. As with any Rinni, shows no skin or fur when in a life support environment she could corrupt or poison by accident, instead remaining sealed inside her suit. Tily's env suit has strips of friction-lock material towards the tip of the tight-fitting tail sleeve, meant to give better grip of tools and tailholds, and her mid-tail is often wrapped up with high-visibility reflective tape.Rather than let her elaborate tailored robes speak for themselves, Tily wears a patched Rupeean Ranger's cloak as a poncho over the armour, falling past her waist, its lower edge studded with synthetic leather strips bearing small handwritten inscriptions. Description
Born and raised in the teeming nest-ships of Kuisraki, Tily apprenticed herself to the Lock-Guardians and demonstrated both skill with arms and unusual perceptiveness. She qualified for the Skr-Vrin pilgrimage after several years of extensive retraining and a licence to practice veterinary toxicology upon Terran-derived species. Her unusual choice of skills allowed her to join the wildlife control division of the Vulpes Drift's international VDF and from there she thrived.Life in the VDF taught Tily sympathy for those she must act against, even by the standards of other Rinni, and she aims not to hurt or cause harm if she possibly can.
