At first, Gaala may seem like the stereotypical Duner: Laconic at best, mockingly cryptic at worst, good with a hardlight-sheathed blade and terrible for conversation. She takes her job seriously and will happily break her smug silence to report or provide information she thinks is important.
Among friends (a very select group) Gaala acts a little more normal... but even this might be a facade.
Gaala is often reluctant to give her full name, which technically puts her in the Rupeean emperor's extended family. She much prefers to trade on her years of experience with the VDF.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
A Duner Rupeean (dark-skinned, equatorial fennec). Slim, spare and boyish frame. Broad mobile ears, with a cap badge embedded in her left ear (worn as an unusually large stud earring). Plantigrade ankle but with an additional reversed knee joint, giving a digitigrade stance. Webbed toes, and a raptor-like sickle claw on the big toe. A flexible, bushy tail, with fur growing darker at the tip.
Gaala typically wears a Duner's military garb - loose-fitting tunic and deep-pocketed trousers - plus a heavy insulating cloak and hood favoured by Rupeeans subjected to foreign life support settings.
Specialized Equipment
Custom dictates Gaala never go out in public without a (ceremonial) weapon. Gaala dictates that this weapon be fully battle-worthy and up to her exacting standards. This is normally her inherited powered kopis, but she sometimes switches to an obsessively customised scoped rail rifle when she feels the need to less-than-subtly intimidate.

Formerly part of the VDF, working as a frontline Ranger. Cut her teeth on difficult jobs such as uncovering Ruby Ant nests and hunting down Spider Trees. She also has experience as an evacuation coordinator and expeditionary monster hunter, making her among the most experienced on-foot combatants available in the fleet
Why she sought a transfer from the VDF to the Voidwalker Project's senior support staff is anyone's guess.
