Kitsunes

A foxlike arctic species artifically adapted from baseline humanity. The main race of the Empire of Summer.

Basic Information

Anatomy

A feminine posthuman species. Skin tone ranges from caucasian to ivory. All fur and hair is white in colour. Two fluffy, vulpine ears visible form within hair. Face is similar to baseline human, with increased sight, smell and taste relative to humanity. ‘Hourglass figure’ body type, with breasts in both male and female Sestians (albeit larger in the case of females). Of note is that Sestians can detect sex-signifying pheromones that are not identifiable by other races, avoiding the confusion that other species have in the past encountered.   Generally muscular body, as a result of hard labour from early ages. Arms are short-furred from the elbow down. Spine separates into 9 prehensile, long-furred tails. Furred lower legs terminating in clawed fox paws, the claws being sharp enough to secure a grip on rock or pack ice.   Upon restful physical contact with another being, the Sestian undergoes a blush response that pushes body heat to the skin, effectively sharing precious heat with those they are cuddling at the time.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Surnames are built up from the noble House the individual is descended from, which in turn originate from workers groups and professional interests formed in the original colonisation of Sestin

Major Organizations

Core worlds are within the Empire of Summer, a relatively stable dictatorship from the ice world of Sestin and one of the first human successor races to independently attain interstellar flight.   One of the two major races within the Vulpes Defence Forces, an international, interspecies paramilitary organisation whose main function is to act as wildlife control and ocasionally monster-hunters on behalf of civilians.   A founding member of the Void Walkers Project.
