"In order to become a good magician, one needs to find the bravery to step up."— Master G. Darcey of the Astromancer's College
Silver Staircase is the single most important celestial body for the magic folk as it provides access to the spheres of the
Celestial Faes. It is the official channel for communication with them and the only way a mortal without a single drop of
Fae blood can request an audience. It is not advised to attempt this, however, without having the official licence of an
Astromancer, but this restriction is there rather out of concern for the fragile mortal bodies and less for any elitism. Most of Astromancers are usually willing to present a message to the
court, for a tiny fee. Stop by your local
Astromancer College for further details.
The constellation of the Silver Staircase is one of the most visible and prominent in the night sky, located near the celestial equator. It is visible thorough the world - the best visibility for people living in the
Bohemian Republic is during the winter months, when it stays in the sky the longest. It is impossible to see it during the months of Florus, Rubera and Ruberika and should you have the need to contact the Celestial Court during those months, you will have to request assistance of one of the foreign
embassies (which is definitely more expensive) or embark on a journey outside of the country yourself.
Silver Staircase is made out of 9 bright stars and various other less visible celestial bodies, such as the
Waterfall Nebula. Its shape is more or less reminiscent of a ladder with 4 ranks and one bright star at the top of it, indicating the current direction of the
Celestial Audience Hall.
The constellation also serves beginner Astromancers as a visual aid to locating other stars and constellations in the night sky.
