Cultivim

A catchall term for all of Orden's elemental life. Cultivim are beings of elemental energy with the form of an animal. There are four major subspecies of elemental:
  • Fire elementals are called Solvena, take the form of Reptiles.
  • Air elementals are called Airealma and share forms with birds.
  • Water elementals are called Aguasolido and resemble marine invertibrates.
  • Earth elementals are called Tierramente which are shaped like bovids.
  Though their outward appearance may change from individual breeds within the four subspecies, they share internal structure.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Cultivim are the sentient manifestation of nature. There are four species of elemental, each one resembling a group of animals.

Genetics and Reproduction

Cultivim don't reproduce, they manifest within and without the planet, though it's currently unknown what creates them or if they can be exhausted.

Growth Rate & Stages

Cultivim manifest at full size, though if exposed to a large amount of energy, they can grow large and even mutate.

Ecology and Habitats

Cultivim have no defined habitat. An elemental, once manifested, will either claim and defend an area as its own territory or wander the landscape, searching for sustenance.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Cultivim require fuel to power their bodies. The fuel needed depends on the subspecies, but if deprived of fule for long enough, they die, dispersing into the earth once more. It is unknown whether or not their spirit dies with the body or survives.

Biological Cycle

Time does not seem to affect Cultivim in any meaningful capacity. As mainfestations of natural elements, they live as long as they can continue to fuel their bodies. They can grow in size and mutate in rare circumstances.

Additional Information

Domestication

The FM class of engine contains an Apparatus for Cultivim/Draft and Control or AC/DC which can render a Cultivim physically comatose while remaining conscious. After a period of breaking, the Cultivim can be rendered mostly compliant and used to pilot and power sandsnekkes.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Cultivim are used for powering Caskega. The stones draw energy from the cultivim it's exposed to. This is usually a harmless process, though it is possible to sap too much power from them, killing them. The amount of energy gained is dependent on the size of the stone and the cultivim harvested, though the yield of even small stones is exponentially higher than the equivalent amount of hellstone or oil.

Average Intelligence

Cultivim are intelligent creatures. They demonstrate significant pattern recognition, self awareness, and extensive problem solving abilities.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Cultivim are aware of their surroundings and have a rudimentary ability to discern between individuals. Given a small handful of unknown individuals, cultivim have the ability to pick a specific one out with a reliability of about 65%.   Beyond that, they have an awareness of any manifestation of their element within a distance that averages about 50 feet, and can draw from that source for energy.
