Solvena

From the lowly Charclaw to the legendary Adama Imperius, Solvena are creatures of heat, light, and passion. One of the four species of elemental, the Solvena universally manifest as reptiles and have blood that ignites upon contact with air.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Solvena share a few distinct traits: their blood combusts when in contact with oxygen and can react explosively in certain circumstances They are invertebrates, as they lack an endoskeleton, instead their bodies are supported by a thick layer of plates and scales. Their internal organs are a series of pseudo-furnaces, which the Solvena must keep filled with fuel in order to stay alive.

Biological Traits

Solvena bodies are living furnaces. The coolest Solvena, the Charclaw, has an internal temperature of around 500 degrees. It only increases from there. That being said, their exoskeleton is an excellent insulator, and dormant surface temperatures are rarely above 300.

Genetics and Reproduction

As caskega, Solvena are asexual and do not breed, instead they are born of natural flame. Whether a campfire, a burning house, or a blazing forest, Solvena are birthed from dying embers, the size of the fire dictating the size of the elemental.

Growth Rate & Stages

Solvena are birthed fully grown. If a Solvena is able to sustain a substantially large intake for long enough, it can grow larger or mutate.

Ecology and Habitats

Solvena typically inhabit arid fire-prone areas, such as the Cinderglades.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Solvena devour both fire and flammable materials.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Solvena only manifest in Orden, and most of them are native to the Cinderglades, though they can manifest anywhere a fire has burned recently.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Solvena have a particularly acute sense of smell, and can sense nearby heat sources.

Scientific Name
Natura Natus Ignis
Average Weight
Thanks to their anatomy, they are remarkably light for their size. Prairie Comets are of a similar size to the Orden Basilisk, but weigh in at nearly a third on average.
Average Length
Solvena manifest in a variety of sizes. The smallest coaltongue recorded measures a diminutive inch and a half long whereas the legendary Adama Imperius is rumored to be upwards of 60 feet long.
