The Atavarians - Public (At-ah-var-ee-an)
The Atavarians are another people orphaned by the Wars of Want back in the World-That-Was. Despite this, the Atavarians proved themselves stalwart and resolute, standing for battle even after the death of their God. Even now the Atavarians are a strong and stubborn people, rallying alongside the Ursin forces to march with Thunder King Huram against the Traitor and Fiend alike. For most Atavarians there is no question, Huram is their leader in the physical world. Those few that turn to evil never follow Ehziamash and Hosac. Outside of Tonitruum, Atavarian communities are usually independent, though some are a part of the Free Peoples for more pragmatic reasons.

They also have an elephant's tough, leathery skin that provides a natural defense that they use to their advantage.
Atavarians are larger and more robust than the average humanoid, reflecting their physical strength and endurance.
They are innately stoic and calm individuals in nearly any situation. Their hatred of Hosac and his Minotaurs causes situations with them to be the execptions.
They have a longer lifespan some humanoid races, and this extended life expectancy contributes to their patient and stoic nature.
Like the elephants they resemble, are often depicted as herbivores. Their diet may consist of a variety of plants, fruits, and vegetation.

Behaviour

Just as they are stoic, the Atavarians are physically strong and resilient, and use their physical prowess to endure challenges. Though they are known to other races for their strength and stoicism, the children of Anadpemon also express themselves artistically. This art often includes pieces of nature choosen by its creator with thought out care.
Atavarians have preferences, but can adapt to various environments as well as any human, often feeling a deep connection to, and appreciation for the environment of the lands they settle, with many having some form of a nature based pastime. Those that feel this connection the deepest tend to be the caretakers of nature of their lands and worlds.
They value community and cooperation, and often prefer to live in close-knit groups where individuals work together for a communal greater good.
Many Atavarians hold traditional values in high regard and find it easier to respect individuals and other races that do as well. The same goes for diligence and a strong work ethic. They take pride in their contributions to the community and approach tasks with dedication and focus.
While they follow Thunder King Huram, most Atavarians still pray to the murdered Anadpemon, with the minority only worshiping the god of the King they follow.
Atavarians prefer peaceful resolutions to conflicts where possible. Their stoic nature and emphasis on community leads them to seek compromise and understanding rather than engaging in aggression against others. This goes out the window with the Minotaurs of Hosac, whom they hate with a burning passion for the actions of their god.
