History
As the oldest of mortal races, vast portions of human history are lost. Damned to the ash and dust of the fires of history. Not even the Gods and Their Kings Know the true extent of what is lost even to them.
For as far back as even the current generation of gods remembers, the gods had walked side by side with humanity. The World-That-Was was a utopic age as mortal and divine walked hand in hand. Those mortals closest to their divinities gave themselves to a celebration known as The Great Making. With rapturous joy they underwent holy rituals to change permanently change their shape and form to be more like that of their god. So happy where the gods that they blessed those transformed, that their children would be born as they had become.
Then came the Wars of Want, and humanity found itself on both sides of the wars. Some fought for the gods and some for the All-Wanter. Those humans who fought alongside the gods and their forces would Nations of the Free Peoples, while others found strength in other founds, like those that became the Serdemar Clans and then empire. The activation of The Great Crystals split the world in to, and as the universe settled into its new form, humanity became more widespread than ever bore.
Now humanity, like many other races, finds their fate tied to the battle for creation. As one of the most numerous mortal races, humanity will have a heavy hand in deciding which side emerges victorious when Gadmorenda comes.
