Humanity - Public

In the world of Crystal Kings, humans are among the oldest and most common races, seemingly everywhere in the world scene and short-lived in comparison to more exotic species. Perhaps it is because of their shorter lives that they strive to achieve as much as they can in the years they are given. Or maybe they feel they have something to prove to the god made races, and that's why they create or find a place in a mighty empire rich in trade and resistant to conquest. Whatever drives them, humans are usually among the greatest innovators, achievers, and the pioneers of the world.   While countless billions of trillions of humans live their lives as a citizen of one of the nations of the Kings, thrice their number live in nations and on worlds not even the Kings or their Gods know of.

Civilization and Culture

History

As the oldest of mortal races, vast portions of human history are lost. Damned to the ash and dust of the fires of history. Not even the Gods and Their Kings Know the true extent of what is lost even to them.

For as far back as even the current generation of gods remembers, the gods had walked side by side with humanity. The World-That-Was was a utopic age as mortal and divine walked hand in hand. Those mortals closest to their divinities gave themselves to a celebration known as The Great Making. With rapturous joy they underwent holy rituals to change permanently change their shape and form to be more like that of their god. So happy where the gods that they blessed those transformed, that their children would be born as they had become.

Then came the Wars of Want, and humanity found itself on both sides of the wars. Some fought for the gods and some for the All-Wanter. Those humans who fought alongside the gods and their forces would Nations of the Free Peoples, while others found strength in other founds, like those that became the Serdemar Clans and then empire. The activation of The Great Crystals split the world in to, and as the universe settled into its new form, humanity became more widespread than ever bore.

Now humanity, like many other races, finds their fate tied to the battle for creation. As one of the most numerous mortal races, humanity will have a heavy hand in deciding which side emerges victorious when Gadmorenda comes.
