J'oognn Dwarves Organization in Cruul | World Anvil

J'oognn Dwarves (JA-OO-GEN)

The Dwarves of Mount J'oognn are one of the five Dwarven Kingdoms sanctioned after the Fall of The OondrG'rog Empire. . The J'oognn Dwarves are well known for their shrewd business sense and opportunistic trade practices all across the human lands of Cruul. They have multiple trade agreements and markets throughout the Kingdom of Vangash, under the guild name of "The Walled-Market".

Appearance.

J'oognn are the tallest of the Dwarves (some reaching even 5ft) and are less muscular than other Dwarves due to their nonlaborious life styles All J'oognn have white beards and go bald early in life (around 200 yrs.)

Habitat.

Unlike other Dwarves, for the last 1000 years, The J'oognn have spent more time aboveground than beneath it. Hardly a single dwarf is found inside the halls of J'oognn Mountain, instead humans work there processing orders for delivery or piling stock. In Vangash its is not rare to meet J'oognn in big cities or wealthy trade towns and ports. Almost always when J'oognn Dwarves are present, there is business and coin envolved.

Social

The Kingdom of J'oognn is more progressive with outsider relations- allowing humans to even live in their Mountain as employees of their economic stronghold. The operate a large chain of trading stores that are highly fortified and protected by armed guards at all times. These stores are called "Walled markets" and they offer fine items, imports and rare select magic items at times. Humans tend to tolerate the J'oognn dwarves and the sight of one is quite normal in wealthy areas of commerce or big cities of Vangash. It is even possible to find them in Crim, Hamar and Ecava, though there they have lost hold over trade. The J'oognn work hand in hand with the government of Vangash- both greatly benefiting from each other's services and protection.

Structure

The Haggl'stienare seen as untraditional in the eyes of most other Dwarven families. They mine less than other mountains, choosing to generate wealth through barter and sale with other races. They make considerable returns on trading dwarven crafted items that are always +1 status at just twice the price.

Culture

After losing in the war against Vangash in the third Age of Man, The Haggl'stien were ransacked by the Vangashian armies, removing generational wealth beyond the ability of accurate calculation, and thus becoming the poorest mountain of all the Dwarven Kingdoms. The treasure hoard was said to have taken over 20,000 men a full year to from the conquered Mountain. The hoard contained artifacts and ancient treasures predating even the elves.    This led to a new way of life for the Haggl'stien- they began to trade with the very humans who emptied their coffers, and since that day they have gained a profit tripling what was lost. Of course this did not return all of the artifacts and ancient treasures- but no longer do the Haggl'stien see unique wealth as important.

Public Agenda

The Haggl'stien are very open to admit they want to continue supplying goods and services for all the human coin in Cruul. They have grown almost offensive in their ways of speaking about human coin, as if they are owed it for the past. They run the popular trade franchise "Walled-Mart"- a series of fortified and protected stores that sell fine goods across the Kingdoms of man.

Assets

It is guessed that the J'oognn now posses more gold, silver and copper than all the other Mountains combined, but with it being human coin not (dug from the ground by dwarves) this wealth is seen as an inorganic farce in the eyes of most traditional Dwarves. They also have many businesses and smithing companies across Vangash, a complicated trading guild and a well oiled delivery system.

History

The J'oognn have existed since the Great Age of Dwarves. They fought alongside the Druugrr in the first war before turning on them. After losing to Vangash in the Second age of Man, The J'oognn changed from traditional Dwarven ways and have now become one of the largest trade guilds in the human world under the name "The Walled-Market"

Demography and Population

The population of the J'oognn is hard to calculate due to the fact that they are very mobil and hard to keep tabs on. But it is guessed to be around 25,000 living today. The low population is due to going to war almost 2000 years ago.

Military

The J'oognn's armies were killed almost 2000 years ago in war against Vangash. They have never reformed a working army and have almost no warriors among them.

Foreign Relations

Vangash is more home to the J'oognn than is their own mountain. They dine more with humans than they do brother Dwarves of other clans. For this reason, other Dwarves dislike the J'oognn, seeing them as weaker brothers- who after losing their family treasure hoard, turned to a disgusting way to make wealth. The other lands all see the J'oognn as very intelligent and well established in worlds of trade and contracting. They are seen as quite greedy but capable traders.

Trade & Transport

The J'oognn have implemented a never-resting  trade operation across the lands of Vangash. They trade and transport varieties of goods and supplies, all of the highest quality adding +1 to all rolls. For a price they can even deliver or transport anywhere in the known world (charging much extra for danger). This trade system operates with hundreds of carriages moving day and night with arm guards.
