Humans (HUE-MAN)

Humans are children of Laydi'wahni "The White Lady" , and the only sentient creations created by her. Born in the First Age of Man, humans possess the unique ability to build civilization and population quickly. Though they flourish rapidly, they live much shorter lives than demihumans.

Basic Information

Ecology and Habitats

Unlike demihumans, humans seem to adapt quickly to all environments quickly if basic resources of survival are present. Most humans choose to live above ground in homes within settlements populated with their own kind.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Humans tend to either seek a solid form of government or none at all. Those who live under systems of law tend to desire to do so even when the systems are broken or out of alignment the individual's goals. Free humans tend to defend the idea of no law but that of the individual. All Humans have the ability to align with good, balance or evil.

Domestication

Humans who live in settlements of law quickly domesticate under its control.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Due to the human's ability to flourish anywhere- the humans have created civilizations that rival even the old Dwarven Empire. They can be found freely living in the following places.
  • Hamar- A large Kingdom ruled by Humans with a strong worship of The White Lady.
  • Vangash- A large human Kingdom ruled by Humans with multi-God worshiping and Mortal-Law.
  • Dunder- A barbaric nation of nomadic tribes existing in the lands of Dunder.

  • Ecava- A highly multicultural city of philisophers, clerics and magi with a very diverse mix of races.
  • Mt.J'oognn- The Dwarven Kingdom of J'oognn is home to many human workers and advisors.
  • Hills of Morwalk- Small groups of human farmers living alongside the Farni-folk.

Average Intelligence

The average human is intelligent enough to be a serious problem if aligned with evil or nefarious plans. Though there are dim witted humans, most seem to be of average intelligence with a few being extremely intelligent.

Civilization and Culture

Major Organizations

Humans have created very powerful guilds and organizations across Cruul. The major ones are noted below in no particular order.

History

The first four humans were born on the first day of the First Age of Man. Two females and two males were found naked and conversing, fully mature, and in the presense of The White Lady. This day is discribe fully by both Dawrven and Elven history as "The First Day of Man". That day, the four humans made choices to split ways with each other. One human went with the Dwarves and lived a long life. One Human went with the Elves and lived a long life. One human went with the wilderness and lived a long life. One was refused by all and left alone.

The Four Kingdoms of Man.

The original Humans eventually produced four civlizations "The Four Kingdoms of Man"- Hamar, Vangash, Dunder and Sahannd. Each civilization quickly flourished into the Kingdoms of those names. The chronicles of those societies are long and complex, but below is an abbreviated but accurate account of their history leading to today.   Hamar- Started under the guidance of the Dwarves. They began as stone workers and followers of Laydi'wahni "The White Lady" . Settling in the south of Cruul they built giant Kingdoms with the help of the Giants. The Kingdom became strongly religious and lawful with alignments of good being the majority of its populous. War and catastrophe test and strengthen its people for almost 4000 years bring them to be strong and moral folk with a focus on locating and destroying evil. They are ruled by one King and the law is under the influence of the divine.   Vangash- Started under the guidance of the Elves. They began as philosophers, artists, rangers and followers of Na'tari "Goddess of Wilderness" but have become a multi-God government with a law system apart from the divine. Over almost 4000 years, Vangash has had to survive war and catastrophe- causing its people to question the place of Gods over the lives of mortals. They have become the most wealthy human kingdom in Cruul and have gravitated to lives of frivolous luxury and a desire for fine living. They are a progressive people with inquisitive nature, with a populous more diverse of alignment and more free to speak and act as indivisuals.    Dunder- Started under the guidance of the wilderness. Dundarians are nomadic barbarians that live lives of freedom within alignment of Na'tari "Goddess of Wilderness" and the wilderness. They began as foragers, hunters and warriors. They have withstood catastrophe and war- becoming a nation of strength and independence from outside systems of law. They are assumed to outnumber all other human civilizations combined. They are both feared and respected by boarding civilizations as capable and orginized. For almost 4000 years, Dunder life has remained mostly unchanged.   Sahannd- Started without guidence and left alone- the people of Sahannd grew faster than all other Kingdoms of Cruul. Industrious and ingenuitive, the Sahanndi Kingdom quickly became the most powerful nation of Cruul. Their ability to prosper and grow as a Kingdom was observed by the demihuman and human nations alike- with the world becoming fearful of its machine-like  efficiency. They spent 3000 years exploiting forest and sea while enslaving and enlisting Farni-Folk. On the first day of the Fourth Age of Man, they were washed from the surface of Cruul by the divine anger of Osheena "Goddess of the Deep" . Today they are an extinct reminder to all living people that the God's have domain over Cruul and that mortals are forever at their mercy.

Other Notable Human Civlizations.

Crim- Started in the Fourth Age of Man, Crim is barely 300 years old. The original settlers were criminals banished to the Island of Crim by the legal courts of Vangash. Over the years, Crim has grown into a multicultural trade nation run by a council that oversees law, trade and tax of all things belonging to Crim. Though barely the majority of the people there, Crimian Humans live life mostly as merchants, traders, fishermen or thieves. They usually a colorful people with a passion for risk and adventure, drink and song, swashbuckling and ship-handling.   Ecava- The new city of philosophy and thought is under 200 years old and operates outside all know governments and laws of the civilized world. They are selfimposed exiles of the old ways and pioneers of thinking and free-thought.
