Croom

The orb known as Croom is a large, glowing landmass in the night sky of Cruul. Its light waxes and wanes in a regular pattern, providing varying levels of illumination to the night sky. It has been present for as long as recorded history, but its purpose and origins are unknown. Some scholars believe it to be an egg or magic item containing something of significance, while others speculate that it was created by the gods to guide life through the darkness. Most species in Cruul recognize Croom as a creation of Gr'Rog , and Laydi'wahni , working together for some unknown cause or purpose.

DWARVEN HISTORY

The earliest recorded mention of Croom can be traced back to the first 100 OondrrG'rog Dwarves. to emerge from the soil in DA1 00001 (Dwarven Age 1, first year). These dwarves revered the glowing, spherical landmass in the night sky and believed it to be a creation of Gr'Rog, the God of the Underground, and Laydi'wahni, the White Lady. However, as the dwarves lived underground and had little interaction with the surface world, they believed the Croom was likely created for someone other than themselves. While the dwarves respected Croom and all things created by Gr'Rog, they saw little value in the moon's existence and considered it a waste of unminable land.

ELVEN HISTORY

The Elves of Cruul hold Croom in high regard, viewing it as a divine gift from the gods. They have long been fascinated by the glowing sphere in the night sky, creating countless works of art, poetry, and song in its honor. While they do not worship Croom directly, they believe it holds some significance or mystery, with some Elven scholars speculating that it may contain a treasure or living being. Regardless of its true purpose, the Elves view Croom as a reminder that even in the darkest of nights, there is light to guide and protect them.

HUMAN HISTORY

Throughout their history, humans have always had a deep appreciation for Croom, the glowing moon that illuminates the night sky. Without the darkvision possessed by elves and dwarves, humans have always relied on the light of Croom to navigate the darkness when fire is not available. Many human civilizations have placed a great importance on Croom, and have even worshipped it alongside their prayers to Laydi'wahni, the White Lady. The symbol of the moon is often associated with her, and humans have spent countless centuries speculating about the true nature and purpose of Croom. Despite their many theories, however, the mysteries of Croom remain unsolved to this day.

LYCANTHROPY

Lycanthropy is a magical disease that has plagued the human population of Cruul since the earliest days of recorded history. It is characterized by the ability to transform into various animal forms, with the most common being a wolf-like creature. However, other forms such as bats, bears, cats, and even rats have also been reported. It is worth noting that lycanthropy seems to be exclusive to humans, as other species and races appear to be immune to its effects. The first recorded case of lycanthropy occurred in A1 666 and the disease has continued to spread throughout the ages, causing concern among all the inhabitants of Cruul. More information about lycanthropy can be found here.

MAN ON THE MOON.

In the year A4 998, Victor Von Gloom , a renowned inventor known for his incredible intelligence and experimental technologies, fled to Croom in an effort to escape from the Legends of New Light . It is unknown what he is doing on the surface of the moon, but his possession of advanced ideas and technologies has garnered the attention of many intelligent scholars. Some speculate that he may be working on new inventions or studying the mysteries of Croom itself. Regardless of his motivations, it is clear that Victor Von Gloom's presence on the moon is a cause for concern and warrants further investigation.
