Circumcellion

Alexei is a recent convert to the Circumcellion cause (as most Circumcisions are). Alexei was born to a small farmstead, and has spent his life helping tend the family farm. Having attended mass at the Cathedral of Penitent Salvation each and every Sunday, he was left with crippling guilt for the sinfulness of humanity, and the desperate need to repent. It looked like he would have to be morally perfect each and every day on his farm, helping to minutely heal the retribution with his purity. He dreaded that life, the idea of it. He didn't know how he'd cope, how he would be able to.
Then a prophet came to his area, speaking of redemption and martyrdom, blood to heal the wretched soil. As he walked home that day Alexei had a great epiphany, his life wouldn't be so hard and dreadful after all. If he joined the band of Circumcillions, he could have just as great an effect healing the Retribution Wastes, and all he needed to do was take up a cudgel, find a demon, and die trying to kill it. He would be a martyr, his name eternally etched in glory, his parents would be able to tell proud stories of their heroic son.
He never made it home that day.
Instead, he's found the call of Martyrdom, the call of the Circumcillions. Laudate Deum!
His blood will heal the Retribution.
