Week One

Choose Your Focus!

So, I batted this one back and forth for a while, having at least three viable areas to delve into, including continued core documents, work on the (other)world outside of Empirica Sin and delving more deeply into the secondary story and its characters.

UItimately, and after consultation with hugowalker, I decided to focus on continued core documents in the hopes that I can wrap up the biggest chunks of that area during WorldEmber. It just seemed appropriate to end this year (my first year on WA, really - I made the account in 2022 but didn't do anything until this past January) by putting the big pieces into place for the portion of the world that I started working on almost a year ago.

So basically this means the articles I'm hoping to get through include things like:

  • Grigorius Bieloskytes
  • Wisemen
  • Amaya
  • Ruavine
  • The Crimson Palace
  • and, if i can get my butt together in time, Gabriel Shaen and/or Dante Savoy.
  •

    Create/Update your Meta

Well, I do already have a substantial meta document at Story Focus Meta, and I did edit/update it for Summercamp, so I doubt anything is very different.

That said, this is going to end up being merged into my response about the primer from week 2, so stay tuned.

    Week 2

    Review Your Homepage

I actually do find it a little stressful to look at my homepage, I'm not sure why.

But yes! I did look it over! I fixed some typos, I added a hover effect to the buttons, I rephrased some stuff, I put colored text on the warning block, idk.

Honestly, I just made it during July so I'm not sure there's much I can do it make it better right now. Maybe by the next Summercamp I will have leveled up enough to add some new bells and whistles.

    Create/Review World Primer

    Your Community Tools

Well, I put a follow button in the universal footer. I should probably style it so it isnt bright blue.

I have been thinking about subscriber groups, but I'm waiting until I can find a really cool way to implement them, so that's on pause.

    CSS Wizardry

Okay so the thing about this is, I did do a bunch of CSS changes (minor things like the highlighting on the front page but also some stuff that's in a page I'm still working on), but. I know myself well enough to know that no matter what I do, there's no way I'm getting through the entire month without coming up with some unnecessary css idea that I spend a week working on instead of writing. So I've just given up on this one, it is what it is.

    Week 3

    Read a Book/Watch a Movie!

Admittedly, not a big watcher (or, I guess, reader - I read a lot, but not books most of the time.) I can't think of any movie I really have an interest in watching... I have been listening to Anne Rice audiobooks at work on and off though, maybe that counts...

    Create a Moodboard

Once, long ago, I used to make these things we called visualosities or something... no one will understand that reference aside from me and that's fine, lmao. I'm not really a moodboard type though.

    Create/Expand Writing Playlist

This is kind of a constant with me, so I'm just going to checkmark it off as done.

    Week 4

    Find a Community!

My community, as always, is basically hugowalker.

    Plan Your Writing Schedule

So, I really don't have a ton of obligations aside from work. I also write extremely quickly (you may be like, girl you post one article a year, and my response to that is okay but the articles are like a thousand years long and I also spend a lot of time nitpicking the visuals....). So I'm not too worried about setting a schedule. I'm also generally bad at scheduling, so... hoping for the best!.

    Get Some Fresh Air!

My bus let me off thousandteen miles from work and I had to walk there, does that could as getting fresh air? :D

No no, in all seriousness, I don't actually think I have time to chill before World Ember starts, but I might just start a little late so I can relax a little.
