Utility District
The Crescent City Utility District (CCUD) is a smaller district of Central City and is primarily home to many of the Utility Company offices and such. The only Utility Companies that actually provide services out of this district are companies such as Telecommunications, Transportation Authority, and the Crescent City Utility Authority.
Defences
Given the essential nature of the Utility District, security is a top priority. Guards patrol the perimeters of each major facility, and many areas are protected by electronic fences, surveillance systems, and motion detectors. Access to the various office buildings and telecommunications hub is restricted to authorized personnel, and anyone entering the district must pass through security checkpoints.
Industry & Trade
The Crescent City Utility Authority (CCUA):
The CCUA which oversees the district’s operations, maintains strict control over every aspect of the system, ensuring that any disruptions are handled swiftly and quietly. This iron grip on the district’s operations has led to rumors of corruption and cover-ups, with some suggesting that certain industrial accidents or environmental violations have been kept out of the public eye in order to maintain the district’s reputation. The Crescent City Transit Authority(CCTA):
The CCTA is the governing body responsible for managing and maintaining the city’s expansive and modern mass transit system. As Crescent City has grown into a sprawling metropolis, the CCTA has become a critical part of daily life for millions of commuters. Known for its efficiency and technological integration, the system connects the city’s diverse districts, from the industrial outskirts to the bustling downtown, while serving as a vital lifeline for workers, students, and residents from all walks of life.Telecommunications Hub:
Crescent City’s main Telecommunications Hub is located within the Utility District, managing the city’s phone, internet, and emergency communication systems. This nondescript facility is a windowless building with reinforced walls, designed to withstand both physical and digital attacks. Inside, a small team of technicians and engineers work to ensure the smooth operation of the city’s vast telecommunications network. The building houses rows of servers, data centers, and advanced networking equipment, making it a vital node in the city’s technological infrastructure. The telecommunications hub is the nerve center of Crescent City’s internet and phone lines, ensuring that information flows freely to all corners of the metropolis. It’s also where the city’s emergency communication systems are managed, ensuring that first responders can coordinate their efforts seamlessly during crises.
