The Bell Tolls Loud Myth in Crafting New Lives | World Anvil

The Bell Tolls Loud

This is the netherborn song game played with children used to celebrate milestones and accomplishments. Each participant will say what they want to celebrate, then they get to call out someone else and ask them to share too. The game works in rounds, working through the group (and anyone else called) until everyone has celebrated something. The game culminates in a recognition of everyone's reasons to celebrate and an exuberant ringing of the bell by everyone who participated.   it was originally created as a community bonding experience and a way to show the bell's significance in the clan, as well as a way to bring together the community about their strengths and joy.   The following are the intended lyrics:   "The bell tolls loud it knows that we are great it calls to the crowd what do you celebrate?"   "I celebrate (BLANK) I am very proud to share with kin, both now and then, why the bell tolls loud!"   "The bell tolls loud it knows that I am great I call to (insert name) What do you celebrate?"   "The bell tolls loud and the story that we tell is done today, so now I say we all go ring the bell!!"   (Insert an insane chorus of people constantly and simultaneously ringing the bell to signal the end of the game)   As they grow up, some alternative interpretations tend to spring up, but none that are widely done are about the bell. They know the bell reflects to their ancestors, and do their best to respect that overall.   Some...less wholesome alternatives include the following:
  • "and the hog grunts loud" (you make the most disgusting noise you can make)
  • "and the whore moans loud" (you moan as loud as you can, whoever breaks loses)

I love this. I love the community aspect of it, and the song.
