Session 1 - New Beginnings

General Summary

Our “heroes,” begin their adventure in the surrounding forested patches of Honeyhive, all having heard of the tourney event occurring within the city. The outer areas have been excavated and smoothed to host feasts and festivals where nobles and commoners alike gather for a bit of fun.   The tourney winners, however, will get the greatest prize—tickets to the Grand Royal Tourney hosted by the royal family, the Tandor’thals. The temptation for such a prize is undeniable, attracting commoners, bastards, and nobles alike. The question is, who’s hungry enough to claim it?   Asha (Great Old One Warlock) and Violet (Death Cleric) travel together alongside a noble from the Bogs, Cynewise Hadamont (and Gitrog, her Giant Frog companion), and a lowly commoner cleric documenting the tournament, Miral of Rhodavos. Asha & Violet have agreed to watch Gitrog during the archery competition while Cynewise competes.   They intersect with Alastor (Conquest Paladin) who has spent the night at the camp of Bond Borsmount, the third child of the famed House Borsmount, the Paramounts of the Meadows. He is, unsurprisingly, outwardly grumpy.   At the same time, Calum (Soulknife Rogue) travels alongside Belt, a mysterious older rogue, to a small outcropping of houses which are unsurprisingly quiet as most local commoners are attending the tournament or festival. There he encounters Celeste (Alchemist Artificer) who travels with Lorian Kettlewyck, a young, bumbling noble from the Goldlands. Calum tries, and fails, to steal from Kettlewyck, but somehow successfully starts a marketing business, all while Celeste fumbles her way through a conversation. Celeste is quickly given the nickname “Arm” for her magically charged prosthetic arm.   In the end, the two groups intercede at the Honeyhive festival grounds. Jolly commoners and nobles slum together playing fun games while preparing for the different tournament competitions set to occur in the coming days. Asha, a talented fortune teller, sets up a small booth to try and make a little coin during the festival while Violet acquires a handful of raw turkey legs from a vendor (for Gitrog!).   Calum and Celeste eventually make their way to converse with Asha & Violet. Together they attempt to market Celeste’s artificer inventions, which fail when Violet, the cleric, hits a bullseye dagger throw which cuts into Calum’s chest. The session concludes when Alastor, attempting to swindle Kettlewyck, convinces him to fall into a marketing ploy. The moment Kettlewyck tries to promote Celeste's work, he gets swindled, again, this time to recieve a fortune from Asha while Calum and Alastor begin to argue (probably about something petty).   Somehow—somehow, the session concludes with our “heroes” all being in the same place. Surely they won’t immediately try to split up.   (They immediately split up).
