The Watchful Eye

The Watchful Eye, once the sole inn in Espar, Cormyr, now lies in utter ruin. Its modest wattle-and-daub walls are shattered, with jagged remnants leaning precariously or scattered across the ground. Once a tranquil haven for fur traders, grain merchants, and adventurers, the inn now serves as a stark reminder of the devastation wrought by the Harbinger of Destruction and his army of aberrations.

The sign bearing Helm's symbol—a watchful eye—hangs broken and weathered, barely recognizable amidst the wreckage. Inside, the calm and efficient atmosphere reminiscent of a Helm temple has been replaced by chaos. Splintered furniture and overturned tables are strewn across the debris-strewn floor. The central hearth, once warm and inviting, is choked with ash and rubble, its chimney collapsed into the cold, lifeless room.

The once-tidy stables, famed for their care, are scorched and empty, with the lingering smell of fire and decay. Helm's guiding influence seems to have faded entirely, leaving behind an eerie desolation. The inn is now a hollow shell of its former self, a place where only whispers of its peaceful past remain.

Amidst the destruction, faint claw marks and strange organic growths—evidence of the aberrations' presence—add a grotesque, otherworldly taint to the ruin. What was once a tranquil respite for travelers now stands as a grim warning of the Harbinger's wrath.
