Session 17: Tyrluk Whos Talking

General Summary

Session Recap: Tyrluk's Who’s Talking

The stillness of Tyrluk’s night was shattered as Solas, calling upon the radiant might of Helm, unleashed divine fury against three suspicious hunters outside the Old Man’s Face Inn. But what should have been a decisive blow only enraged the men. Twisting and convulsing, they transformed into monstrous hybrid forms, half-man, half-wolf, their snarls echoing through the village.   Inside the inn, Colmir, still in bear form, attempted to smash through the wooden wall to join the fray but was thwarted by its sturdy construction. A werewolf leapt from the roof to meet the bear in savage combat, its claws tearing through the night air. Meanwhile, the rest of the party scrambled out of the upper window, landing in the dirt below with mixed success. Each misstep met the waiting claws of their foes, as blood and chaos filled the air.   The largest of the hunters, a towering figure brimming with power, transformed into an even more menacing form, one Shadow recognised from old tales: a Loup Garou, a deadly and nearly unstoppable apex werewolf. To the creature’s frustration, however, Colmir’s Moonbeam revealed its weakness, forcing the monstrous leader to revert to his Human form. In a tactical retreat, the Loup Garou abandoned Solas and sought to regroup, only to face the combined might of the party.   As Lucky, Shadow, and Colmir tore through the werewolves, the leader finally called for a halt, laughing amidst the carnage. “Aye, aye! Hold it, lads, brilliant! Mutilate us more, why don’t you?” Despite their wounds and one comrade bleeding out on the dirt, the werewolves surrendered, impressed by the party’s strength.   The Loup Garou introduced himself as Ironfang, a member of The Lunar Concord, a werewolf pack based in Bowshot Run, a mysterious, arrow-straight strip of land where nothing grows. Ironfang brought the party to his pack’s camp, where they were introduced to the Alpha, Silverclaw, a towering, silver-maned figure whose commanding presence filled the clearing.   Silverclaw revealed his goal to use the Pin of Boeshoren, an artifact the party unknowingly possessed, to escape Faerûn with his pack and seek a home in the Feywild where they could live free from persecution. Shadow’s recollection of Boeshoren as a Seelie general from the Feywild War confirmed the connection. The Pin of Boeshoren was indeed the Pin of Peace. The party agreed to consider Silverclaw’s bargain after a night of rest.

Bargains and Betrayal

The party rejected Silverclaw’s offer of hospitality, opting instead to sleep under the protection of Leomund’s Tiny Hut, where they debated their options. In the morning, they were greeted by Ironfang, who proposed a counteroffer. Bitter and resentful, Ironfang revealed his intent to challenge Silverclaw’s leadership but lacked the numbers to do so openly.   Ironfang sought to exploit the party’s strength, urging them to trick Silverclaw into retrieving The Point of Peace from Boeshoren’s Home, a hidden Feywild sanctuary. At the right moment, Ironfang promised, his loyalists would ambush and kill Silverclaw. The Point of Peace, combined with the Pin, could form the Pinpoint of Peace, a powerful artifact capable of neutralising the Harbinger of Fury.   The party was left torn between two paths, Silverclaw’s dream of leading his pack to freedom in the Feywild, or Ironfang’s vicious determination to overthrow the Alpha and use the Pinpoint of Peace as a weapon against Fury.

The Paths Ahead

In their audience with Silverclaw, Lucky took the lead, negotiating terms. Silverclaw offered two maps in exchange for the Pin. The first map detailed the route to Fury’s Lair, outlining how to locate and bypass its hidden magical wards. The second map, however, caused confusion among the party; it led to a location Silverclaw called Melkerech’s Home. Shadow noted the peculiarity, as they had already visited the Lich’s lair or so they thought.   Silverclaw’s dream was bounced back and forth: to use the Pin of Peace to find The Point of Peace, and with both together, to create the Pinpoint of Peace, the key to his plans.   Silverclaw also provided an enigmatic reference to a flying fort at The Warm Waterfall, which further deepened the mystery. This fort, he claimed, was tied to Melkerech’s experiments with the Feywild long ago, a place abandoned but still cloaked in powerful illusions. The fort could hold clues to unravelling the Queen of Thorns’ growing influence.   The Vicious Ironfang wants to use the Pinpoint of Peace to weaken Fury to kill him; but going with Ironfang promises assistance from the powerful ally and his werewolves in the fight against Fury, except they have no idea how to find Fury.   The Calm Silverclaw wants to use the Pinpoint of Peace to take his pack to another world, away from Humans and the influence of Fury. Silverclaw promises to show the party how to find Fury, but no help will be given in the fight.   Decisions will be made; a course will be set in a showdown against the pernicious Fury in the next session, The Price of Peace.
