Order of the Diamond

The Order of the Diamond – An order of Sorcerers dedicated to protecting the world from otherworldly threats. The order resides in tower complexes in cities scattered through the continent where they train their initiates and stockpile magical weapons and devices necessary for their mission. Members of the Order traditionally wear light blue robes and wear silver masks with a blue crystal embedded in their forehead. It is said the mask provided additional protection against mind-effecting magic and illusions. The order has towers in Landor, Karmis and many other cities around the continent. Each tower has a Master or Mistress who is a powerful and highly skilled member of the Order. They supervise the members assigned to their tower and organize a program of training for new initiates. The order seeks to recruit outsiders and looks favorably at unions between its own members so their children can be brought up in the order. To raise money to support its activities the order actively seeks donations, grants of land to provide steady income and sells magic items which they manufacture to raise funds. The light globes found in the houses of the well to do are a standard item of trade.
