Raven Pray
Raven Pray is a complex form of praying and is only done by the most pious of followers of the Raven Goddess
Ravica. First the
Shadar-Kai performing the prayer much gather some material.
- 30g of Grey Sand
- Corpse of a Raven
- Bark from a burnt Tree
- Ash from a Warrior who died in combat
Once these items have been collected the Second part of the Prayer can take place, this part is known as the resurrection phase.
- Create a circle with the Grey and place the Raven Corpse inside
- Cover the Bird with the Bark of the burnt tree
- Create a line from the bottom of the Raven to the top using the Warrior Ash
- Light the Raven on Fire
Once these steps have been completed the Final Part of Raven Pray may take place. If the steps are done correctly the Raven will resurrect as an undead creature and begin to fly, once it does so the
Shadar-Kai must lay on the ground facing towards the Raven. Once the Raven sees the
Shadar-Kai laying on the ground it will feast upon its flesh tearing open the stomach of the
Shadar-Kai and eating the organs. The
Shadar-Kai must stay still and endure the pain and allow for the Raven to feast. This act proves loyalty to
Ravica who helps heal the
Shadar-Kai as well as providing them with the strongest version of '
Blessing of the Raven Queen'.
Raven Pilgram
Many Zealous
Shadar-Kai take it upon themselves to climb the mountain,
Raven Peaks where it is said that
Ravica created the
Shadar-Kai. The mountain is one of the highest in all
Cordisia and is a difficult journey. For those who manage to pass the challanges that the mountain may contain often report seeing
Ravica and talking to her about their destiny.
Raven Pray History
In the
Kingdom of Pouuys where the religion resides today and always has there has been contention around the practicing of Raven Pray. In the early ages of the Kingdom no one really cared as
Shadar-Kai peformed the ritual constantly. However recently in the past 200 years it became outlawed as it was seen as evil witchcraft and desecrating the bodies of honoured warriors. Many
Shadar-Kai who wish to peform this ritual to prove their Zealotry try to avoid being seen, because if they are seen they could be killed.
