Exploits and Battle

Siege of Pouuys Castle

The Legacy of Lamonir begins during the middle of the Pouuys civil war, with the Windravens being pushed to Windraven Castle, at the time known as Pouuys Castle. The Castle was being sieged by the Trithogans and many inside the Castle walls fell ill. All hope seemed lost when a young ambitious noblemen son who was yet to kill a man stepped forward and suggest a idea. He suggested to use those who had fallen sick and died and launch them at the enemy. Shadirik II who was the King of the Windraven side of the civil war agreed to it when everyone else told him to ignore the advice and bunker down instead. The strategy worked as the enemy became sick and had to leave as half their army died. The young noblemen was then given an army for his success and made Military advisor to King Shadirik II replacing general Turyana. The siege ended with no diret conflict meaning all the fighting men who weren't sick were able to fight on the field. The Young noblemen was named Lamonir Waywind.

Battle of Bassarat

The Battle of Bassarat was another famous battle for Lamonir's career as he pioneered his strategy which at this battle gave him a 1:1000 casualty ratio. Lamonir just outside the small town of Bassarat saw an army approaching in the distance of about 30,000 men. Lamonir had only 2,000 men at his disposal and demanded his men to hold their ground and ready their shield. Many men fled out of fear, however with Lamonir in their ranks most of the soliders felt confident and were ready of the battle ahead. As the army appraoched closer and closer they too readied their shields. Once the enemy did so Lamonir shouted at his men to charge, breaking their shield wall and running head on into the enemies wall. However Lamonir when about 5 meters from the swords of his enemies order his men to stop, crouch and cut the unprotected legs. This move caused the shield wall to collapse as Lamonir's men raise their shields, encircle the 30,000 and kill every last one. He lost 29 men and 291 fled.
"Those men lost in that Battle, need not have been lost, fear overcame many and it is a tragedy that those 29 lost their lives. They are heroes." - Lamonir Waywind

Siege of Carthoga

The Siege that won the war is credited directly to Lamonir. The Siege of Carthoga has many recounts however they all contradict one another. Lamonir's account recalls the battle as losing 180 men on his side and 40,000 men lost on the enemy side. He recalls using metal above the battering ram to avoid falling objects and arrows, and use of basically an Iron wall with shields that extended to the ground creating a turtle formation.

The Legend of Lamonir

Lamonir never lost a battle, in the aftermath of the Siege of Carthoga, King Pouuys VI son of King Shadirik II awarded Lamonir with the The Golden Raven Award, the most prestigious award that can be given to a solider or general for extreme brilliance and bravery. He was nicknamed 'The Undefeated' by his men which stuck with him. Everyone who has heard of Lamonir knows that he is careful, calculated and values every life he comes across.
