An Emergency Situation (Pt 8)
Session 12 Recap
General Summary
After some deliberation, the party decides to follow the druid for one more day before returning to the Wells' cabin. As they continue to following the tracks northward, they being to suspect that the druid is heading toward Abelynn, since they are following the tracks left by the zombies earlier, so their guide takes them on a more direct route to return them to the destroyed hamlet.
There, the group finds some of the zombie corpses from the graveyard where they fought the Yellow Musk Creeper have been cut open, including one which is missing its head. The party suspects that the druid found a living Yellow Musk Creeper seedling, and is attempting to cultivate it, so they start giving chase further north, where they eventually run into the druid and a handful of remaining zombies.
The battle ends up being short but intense, with Rayne nearly dying, but they are able to overcome the druid and capture him. After they decide to escort him back to Two Pines for trial, however, they are stopped by another druid who demands to take custody of his comrade. When the party determines that the Circle intends to punish their prisoner for his actions, they reluctantly give him up, and the druids depart together.
Afterwards, the party returns to Two Pines where, despite not being allowed entry to the town, they pass along the details of their adventure to Veliel, along with their renewed intent to wait for Bellusial's return. Now, finally able to return to their temporary lodging at the Wells' cabin, the party bids Kenneth farewell as he heads home to Avul's Port, while they settle in for a well-deserved break.
