The Scaled Eyes

When Dragons were no more in Colossus it hit the world hard. Folks that gave their everything in the name of the Dragons were emotionally wounded. Children wept as if a pet had died.
Nations that had built their belief systems around them took their own lives. Losing ones faith was devastating.
People couldn't accept that they had gone. How could such a world as Colossus not have dragons in it. It didn't make sense. It cannot be the last of them. Some plan must be in motion.
It took a while but eventually they became myth and legend to many, but not all. Some took the stories as clues containing hidden truths.
Scaled Eyes they call themselves, what started as a few as turned to many. The Scaled Eyes are believers in the return of Dragons, they search the world looking for clues that they then interpretive to their return no matter how far fetched the idea may be.
In a world of magic with a history that showed Dragons these clues have some grit in them. Listening at every camp fire, leaning in close in every tavern, there is a Scaled Eye seeking knowledge.
The Scaled Eyes speak in towns and cities calling our for any to aid them. The world is a big place and many loyal eyes are needed. They reach out to soldiers to fight, to scholars to find knowledge of where to look.
End game for the Scaled Eyes is to be in the right place at the right time to witness the return of Dragons. To show they were the ones that never lost faith, and in the end be rewarded for that loyalty. 
If only they looked closer to home they may see some of those very Dragons hiding in plain sight.
