Rash'irkul Troglodytes

The Rash'irkul Troglodytes are a tribe of troglodyte savages from deep underground. The troglodytes were driven to the surface by the rapid migration of Dorei Shonin into their former territory. When these dangerous predators arrived on the surface they were found by the Black Dragon Rash'Irkul the Leech, and the worshipped the creature as a god. They began to form their village Deepstench under the command of their former chief Dirge the Degenerate. It wasn't long before the tribe came into conflict with some of the nearby villages of Frostbound and the MiracleBerry Winery at the behest of their new divine leader.    The tribe fell on hard times after Frostbound's retaliation efforts lead to the demise of not just The Leech, but also Chief Dirge. They had gladitorial duels between the strongest of their kind to determine who their new leader would be, and by far the champion was Romulan Rotgut, who was capable of swallowing even the largest of his opposition whole and regurgitating nothing but their bones. They found their new leader, but their food stores were sparse and hope began to dwindle. This is of cours until Rahadin, the Steward of House Sariel came to them with a deal. Join House Sariel and aid them in the destruction of their enemies, and Lady Sariel would invest in their tribe's devlopment.

Mythology & Lore

  • Laogzed was once a terror to the Ancestral people of the surface in an age long forgotten, before the sun revealed the predators hiding in the dark. They believe the world was once eternal night. The surface tribes feared his presence so much that their wretched gods created the sun to reveal him. This drove their deity beneath the surface of the earth where he laid eggs as he hid deeper below ground. The hatchlings were the first troglodytes.
  • The Illithid came from deep space to hunt and kill Laogzed, and succeeded. This is why they had to leave the deep below and come to the surface. Here, they found Laogzed resurrected as a Black Dragon, now calling himself Rash'irkul.

Divine Origins

  • The teachings of Laogzed have been passed down for as long as any Troglodyte can remember, they have existed underground since the earliest records of the Primordial Age.

Cosmological Views

  • Somewhere deep in space, beyond even the Illithid, is a massive serpent that laid the universe as an egg, and the stars are cracks in the eggs shell.
