Techies

While functional Gear can be purchased from NPCs, the most sought-after and powerful equipment in Citadel Nine comes from player crafters, known colloquially as "Techies".

These specialists, found primarily in District 3 build custom Gear, tune existing loadouts, and produce the Silver Tier items that define a top-tier player's kit.

Player-to-player crafting is a hands-on, skill-based process. Techies must physically use workshop tools to weld, wire, calibrate, and assemble gear.

A single misaligned component or a rushed calibration can result in a weapon that feels clumsy or a mod that underperforms.

Due to their expertise, top-tier crafters like Netmirth and Vanessa often have commission queues that are booked for months in advance.

Tuning & Maintenance

Beyond creating new items, Techies are essential for maintenance. They offer services to keep a player's loadout performing at its best.

  • Tuning: Fine-tuning a weapon's balance, adjusting the fit of an armor piece, or recalibrating a movement rig for a specific user's style.
  • Modding: Installing new components or modifications to grant gear new properties.
  • Repair: Player-crafted repairs are often more durable and precise than those from standard NPC stalls, especially for high-tier Orange Tier and Silver Tier gear.

Players building their own gear will need a schematic to work from. See Blueprints for sourcing by tier and Blueprint Catalog for a full list of craftable items.
