High Divers
The epitome of the Diver, those who are capable of using their entire bodies as expressions of the Dive Implant. There are many titles for those who have reached this pinnacle, the name High Diver being one that is used primarily among casual citizenry. Officially they are recorded as Miracle Circuits, and classified as a species of nonhuman. As a piece of technology, rather than a person, all High Divers are considered artifacts of the Holy Empire of Man. High Divers are capable of interacting with technology in ways that are simply impossible for anyone outside their class, seemingly able to ignore most of the restrictions that bind regular people.
The Ignorance of Code. To a High Diver, they can fully understand the inner worlds of any technology. Concepts such as lines of code or rigid rules rarely have any meaning to them. A simple access pad, which requires specific information from an individual will often appear as text boxes in the mind of a normal Diver. They either have the information or do not. They could attempt to hack through it, but this requires advanced learning and time to implement their methods. To a High Diver, using the same surface area, they could enter the World of the access pad, finding a sealed gate or a guardian. Their instincts and higher functioning allowing them to bypass obstacles with effort more than understanding.
Full Body Diving. The basic function of a Dive, allows one to use their flesh as a way to connect with technology. For almost all Divers within the Empire, this is done with the hands. One can touch something, or insert a hand for fine control. This is perfectly reasonable, and is how High Divers access the same technology. Despite their highly increased processing power, and their ability to see beyond the code, a High Diver would not be as important or impressive if that was all they had over the traditional Diver. It is because almost their entire body can be utilized in this way that their true effectiveness shines. Using highly specialized equipment, a High Diver can make their entire body into their surface area, and allow their control to become truly inhuman. This is most notable with their ability to utilize Divine Arms, the massive robotic armors which most of the public identify exclusively with High Divers.
A High Diver lays within a tight, gel like chamber within the armor and manipulates untold amounts of extremely fragile processes. This allows for a man-shaped weapon that can move with grace, speed, and decisiveness that eclipses all other forms of warfare within the Empire. As each High Diver is different in body shape and capability, each of these units is largely customized for their use. All High Divers are required by law to train and pilot a Divine Arm, as property of the Empire. Only after they are considered reliable are they allowed a life outside of direct imperial control, leading most High Divers to have a militaristic slant.
