Terseus II Drussus Faldovest

18th King of Leseria - "Terseus the Shepherd"

Age of 48 years, born on the 25th day under the Autumn Moon of 1171 at Leseria Castle of Emerald Gate. Terseus II acts as the head of the Faldovest Royal Family and serves the Kingdom of Leseria as her 18th King, an honor he earned from his father after he prematurely succumbed to illness. Though young when he claimed his throne, Terseus II has successfully and peacefully ruled over his kingdom and her people for the last three decades.

Early Life   Terseus was born the eldest of four children to the 17th King of Leseria Lukas III Rasmus Faldovest and his wife Queen of Leseria Heira Faldovest. From a young age, Terseus idolized his father and was determined to become a king that those who preceded him would be proud of. Interested in both the subjects of diplomacy and combat, Terseus was a quick learner and eagerly studied day and night in order to reach his lofty expectations he set for himself. Entering his teenage years proficient in both the way of the word and the sword, Terseus began accompanying his father to court in order to get a first hand look at his future.   Becoming King of Leseria   In the year of 1188, King Lukas III became ill with the disease that later came to be known as Death's Calling, which would rampage through the Kingdom of Leseria for the next five years. During The Calling, guests to Leseria Castle were reduced to none other than essential personnel in order to hide the truth of the King's illness. While still young, Terseus realized that this would mean his coronation would likely come sooner than he ever anticipated. After a swift and harsh battle with the disease, King Lukas III was declared dead on the 15th day under the Yielding Moon of 1188. Leseria could not remain without her king, however, so the Royal Court of Leseria expedited the motion to have Terseus ascend the throne. The coronation was held on the 1st day under the Twin Moons of 1188 and Terseus was named Terseus II Drussus Faldovest, 18th King of Leseria. Even with all of his preparations, Terseus II never expected to become king so young at only 17 years of age. Given the current state of a kingdom both battling a plague in addition to mourning its beloved king, Terseus II rose to the challenge and did his best to begin creating a legacy that would be looked back upon positively years after he is gone.   Early Reign (1188-1193)   The first five years of Terseus II's reign were vastly different compared to most kings before him, with the main priority being the safety of the kingdom from The Calling to ensure the health of his people. Terseus II made it his sole purpose to rid this sickness from his homeland by joining together the most powerful healers across the kingdom to help in the containment and eradication of the disease. After years of hard work while also trying to gain his footing as a competent ruler, Terseus II successfully controlled The Calling and believed to eradicate it from the Kingdom of Leseria. While incredibly challenging, this earned Terseus II the trust and love of his people, as for many believed that their king saved them from the end of days. Additionally, Terseus II earned the royal epithet of "The Shepherd" due to his proficiency in guiding his people away from this vile sickness. This praise only further motivated Terseus II to be a king that would hold a long-lasting legacy and perhaps even surpass the ones left behind by his father, grandfather, and their fathers before them.   Continuing The Faldovest Dynasty (1194-1208)   After leading the Kingdom of Leseria out of the grasp of The Calling, Terseus II next prioritized finding himself a queen, as his betrothed did not survive the wave of sickness that befell her. With assistance from Queen Mother Heira Faldovest, women of noble families from across the continent were interested in having Terseus II's hand in marriage. Many of the noblewomen that Terseus II encountered, however, were very shallow and looking only to further their own standing. This led the young king, now 23 years of age, to believe that he would never have a wife that would truly love him how his mother loved his late father. This all changed, however, when Terseus II was introduced to Lady Cordelia Pethala of Rosvale, in the nation of Floressa of the Griolivend Heptarchy. The eldest daughter and second child of the Florere, Cordelia belonged to one of the strongest families on the continent. Despite the troubling history between the Kingdom and the Heptarchy, Terseus II could sense that Cordelia was an honest and genuine young woman unlike any potential brides he had previously encountered. Given their immediate connection, both families agreed to a marriage that would be held on the 1st day under the Yielding Moon of 1194. This being the first day of the harvest, it was believed that this marriage would grow a newfound peace between the former rival nations. Over the next 13 years, King Terseus II and Queen Cordelia would have seven children together: Lukas Regulus, Teresa Aquila, Chastain Marcellus, Rheten Albus, Jewel Cassea, Reed Vitas, and Alexis Aelia.   Period of Peace (1209-Present Day)   It seemed to many that with each new birth of a prince or princess in the Faldovest Royal Family, the Kingdom of Leseria became that much more peaceful. There was surplus in food, homes, and military capability so that no citizen within the Kingdom ever went without. Terseus II along with Queen Cordelia made sure to be visible to their people often and be hands-on in continuing the prosperity of their domain. The marriage between the two had greatly improved relations with the major families within the Griolivend Heptarchy, especially with the Family of the Florere. No longer was there friction between the Heptarchy's nations and the Kingdom but instead a period of cooperation and understanding was seen for the next decade through to present day Vanilesse. While the majority of the contintent thrives in this peace, there is no doubt that there are those who would try to challenge it. Even with this threat ever in the back of his mind, Terseus II remains vigilant to preserve a peaceful world to secure a happy life for himself, his family, and all of his people.
