New Vegas

New Vegas has inherited the reputation of its namesake: known as a den of sin and iniquity where everything can be bought at a price. Prostitution, gambling, and chem use are legal, normalized, and widespread.   Three tribes, The Omertas, Chairman, and White-Glove Society, were "rehabilitated" by Mr. House, and placed in charge of the Gomorrah, Tops, and Ultra-Luxe Casinos, respectively.    New Vegas is technically split into two sections: Freeside and The New Vegas Strip (often shortened to just "The Strip."     Freeside is the slum district, but contains most of the actual market businesses, as well as a medical complex in the form of the Old Mormon Fort, occupied by the Followers of the Apocalypse.   A general store, weapons shop, and a single casino, The Atomic Wrangler, are the main businesses in the area.   The Kings are a local gang based out of a Elvis school of impersonation and act as the closets thing the area has to consistent security, however, they aren't above exploiting the poorer folks that live there either.  The NCR has attempted to offer aid to the area, but only to NCR citizens, causing quiet a bit of tension between the NCR and locals.   The Strip is the wealthier area, home to the three main casinos, along with Mr. House's personal casino, The Lucky 38, the NCR embassy, the New Vegas Radio Station, and the Vault 21 Hotel.  Entrance to The Strip is difficult, as a traveler needs either a total of 1000 caps worth of currency or have access to the monorail between Camp McCarran and the Strip.  Mr. House's securitrons provide highly effiecient and effective security to this area, but do not extend any assistance to Freeside.    After the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, Courier Six takes control of The Strip and its securitrons, maintianing New Vegas as a highly unusual independent city-state inside of what would eventually become NCR territory, although this only lasts briefly.   Once Six leaves the Strip, tensions and power plays between the smaller groups end up killing New Vegas from the inside.  Eventually, the NCR is able to annex it, much to the dismay of many.
