Void Bomb

A Silent Annihilation

Void bomb is a special ability that only a few Shadow mages ever managed to acomplish. Most never dared try because of the real dangers it poses to everything and everyone around them, and also because of the hypothesized world-ending risks if something went terribly wrong in the execution.

Effect

The effects of a void bomb are very destructive. Everything caught in its blast radius will be reduced to nothing. Material will simply dissapear, leaving a smooth crater behind, and nothing else. Only shadowmages are immune to its effects, and other mages have limited resistance to its effects, if the exposure is brief enough.

Side/Secondary Effects

While it is very much an explosion, there is no sound associated with it, possibly because the void absorbs it as it expands, nullifying any potential sound from what it is breaking.

Manifestation

Before exploding, the void bomb looks largely like a standard void sphere, but which vibrates rapidaly if held in place or when in the air. Once disconected from the mage's hand, it rapidaly distabolize and will explode in about 2-5 seconds. When it does, there is no flash of light. Instead, light around it dims considerably, as it is consumed by the void, which begins to expand rapidaly, at about half of the speed of a normal fire ball. As it does, it destroys all solid matter it touches, depending on how much mana was put into the bomb before it was released, it may expand to maore than 100 metres, although most that have been observed had a blast radius of about 10 metres. After that limit size is reached, the surface of the void ball will begin to dissentatrate, and becomes innofensive to the material it touches, before finaly dissipating entirely, leaving a perfectly round and smooth crater behind.

The source of the mana energy nessessary to produce a void bomb comes from the mage's mana core, which in the case of Shadow mages, has a high productivity rate, allowing them to cast large spells like this.

Creation

A void bomb is created when a shadowmage firsts creates a void sphere, and fills it with extra mana, without converting it to void, which creates a mounting pressure inside of the sphere, which its surface can barely contain without the mage's help holding it. When the bomb is released, its surface of the sphere becomes unstable and eventualy explodes. This converts the mana inside into void, which expands to consume all things around it.
