Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Like other Valkyries, Miya is quite beautiful to behold. She is in excellent physical health and spiritually balanced.
Body Features
As she has trained hard and true as a sword maiden of the Valkyrian Order, Miya has a decent amount of muscle mass. She also has a tribal tattoo on her upper left arm that symbolizes her devotion to the Way of the Sword and her Valkyrie Sisters.
Facial Features
Her bright blue eyes are her most stunning facial feature. She has a slightly flat face, with a sloped nose and wide cheekbones. Her face is delicate and beautiful to look at, with the exception of the scar along her left eye. Even with the scar, she is a reputed beauty.
Identifying Characteristics
She has a scar across her left eye that occurred during a training exercise. As a result, she is blind in that eye. As such Miya has styled her hair so that it conceals it.
Physical quirks
Her blindness in one eye affects her depth perception. She has been able to accommodate that, and it doesn’t affect her physical prowess. It has meant that she developed a habit of inclining her head and squinting to gain awareness of her surroundings.
Special abilities
Miya is believed to be one of the few Nomads still with the capacity to master the ancient art of the Sheai (spirit sword). Though she has yet to find anyone to teach her how to master and call one forth.

Miya's attire is the same as any other Valkyrie, both in and out of combat.

Personal history
Miya was born on the 26th of Septembrus, 3A-1202 to ship captain, Skjold Sasaki and Samurai lieutenant, Kadlin Bjarnidottir. As a young child, Miya was seen as both beautiful and intelligent. By the time she was seven, Miya had caught the eye of the Valkyrian Order; and with the approval of her parents, Miya was sent to train at the Abbey of Sword Maidens under the guidance of Emilia Tsujino.
Miya was a natural, having surpassed many Valkyries that came before her, as well as some of her fellow recruits. There was one slight mishap that occurred when she was fifteen that resulted in her losing the sight in her left eye. Miya pushed past her injury and used it to her advantage. After turning eighteen, Miya took her oaths and was sworn in as a true Valkyrie.
Because of her lack of sight in her left eye, Miya has not been in direct combat. Most of her duties generally have been custodial by making sure the streets of whatever City-State she is assigned to. Miya also, on occasions will act as an instructor or mentor to young recruits.

Employment
Miya’s employment is as a member of the Valkyrian Order, and has been ever since she took her oaths. She also works occasionally at her friend and fellow Valkyrie, Kira’s grandfather’s shop.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Miya was a highly accomplished Valkyrie recruit. The training and teachings came very easily to her, and she was able to surpass not only the other recruits but even Valkyrie who came before her. She is very proud of her talent, and the achievements she gained during that time period. Now, her pride mainly rests in her teaching and mentoring of new recruits.
Failures & Embarrassments
Her largest failure is losing the sight in her left eye. When she was fifteen, she was engaged in a training exercise. It should have been easy for her to pass, but she made a misstep, and was injured. Now, without the sight in her eye, she has not been put into combat, something that she wished and worked for. While she is proud of her teaching of new recruits, and the other duties she accomplishes, she is embarrassed that she does not participate in combat like the other Valkyries.
Mental Trauma
Miya does not have any mental trauma to speak of. She is very healthy both physically, mentally, and spiritually. Any potential trauma that comes her way is fended off by her spiritual practices and the balance that she achieves.
Intellectual Characteristics
Miya is highly intelligent. She excelled at the training and education given to her by the Valkyrian Order, and was easily able to pick things up. Now, she passes on her intellectual capabilities by training and mentoring new recruits.
Morality & Philosophy
Miya’s sense of morality is slightly more flexible than that of many of her other Valkyrie sisters. Much of her morality is informed by the Way of the Sword, and she is very devoted to the spiritual practices and the Valkyrian Order. While she does have a very strong sense of right and wrong, she also realizes that there is often more of a grey area, where people are not simply good or bad.
Taboos
Miya’s main taboo is heresy or sacrilege. She fully believes that the Way of the Sword and her devotion to her spirituality is the only way to live a full and good life. When things get difficult for her, she is able to turn back to these practices and find the answer, so she takes heresy almost as a personal insult.

Contacts & Relations
Miya’s main contacts come from the Valkyrian Order. She is close to most of them, but she is especially close to Kira Akii, who she considers her best friend. She has little to no contact with people from her life before the Valkyrian Order, with the exception of her sister. She is also friendly with many of the new recruits to the Valkyrian Order.
Family Ties
Miya is the youngest daughter of Skjold Sasaki and Kadlin Bjarnidottir. She has three brothers and four sisters. Miya rarely has any contact with most of her family with the exception of her sister, Nishina Sasaki.
Religious Views
Being a Valkyrie, Miya is completely devoted to the goddess Ilena. However, she is also a firm believer in the worship of Daheia, the goddess of travel, communication and language, and Iion, god of the Sheai and creation.
Social Aptitude
Miya is relatively quiet around those that she doesn’t know very well. She prefers solitude, for the most part. However, when she is around the other members of her order, she transforms into a lively, talkative person. This is especially true around her best friend, Kira. Those who know her well say that she has a calming presence.
Mannerisms
Miya has very calm, serene mannerisms in most of her life. She exudes a calming presence, and moves with a practiced fluidity. When she becomes more excited, her mannerisms become more like a typical young woman, but she still has a fluidity that speaks to her inner peace.
Hobbies & Pets
The closest Miya has to a pet would probably be that of her white stallion which was assigned to her after she took her oaths as a Valkyrie.
Speech
Miya is well spoken, when she does speak. She generally prefers not to waste words, and is straight to the point. This changes when she is with Kira, and her voice speeds up and she becomes more willing to elaborate on her thoughts.
Wealth & Financial state
As a Valkyrie, Miya does not have any personal wealth or assets. Though sometimes when she’s off-duty, Miya will lift a hand at the shop of her Valkyrie sister, Kira Akii’s grandfather, who gives her a modest sum of coin for her assistance.
