Transcendechoism
Transcendechoism is the dominant belief system among the Belvals of western Syrasha.Transcendechoists, or Echoists for short, believe that by mastering understanding of the mechanics of the physical world, they can push beyond the limits of mortality and achieve resonance with all of Ayu, essentially achieving divinity. Transcendechoism does not focus on worship or deities, but on seeking to unlock intrinsic potential.
Echoists primarily attempt this through the use of musical resonance: specific sounds, rhythms, and tunes resonate with the unique divine echo found within each soul. Complementing this divine echo with the physical practice of creating sound and music amplifies the divine echo, and with enough skill and mastery, this echo overtakes the physical body. Despite this promise of power, very few are able to find resonance with their divine echo, so the majority of the population instead partake in more generic musical rituals where precise resonance is never achieved.
The greatest Echoists, however, do discover their specific divine echo, and do unlock ways to change the proportion between the mortal and the divine within themselves. These often end up become great advisors, healers, teachers, chroniclers, emissaries, prophets, minstrels, and sometimes rulers among the Belvals, and are said to be able to utilise musical resonance to see into the past and future, achieve supernatural healing, and even temporarily bypass requirements or limitations of their mortal bodies. Eilavals regard these great Echoists as heretics.
