Cults of Torohnuq
The Cults of Torohnuq are a pantheon of demigod Reliqus within the Tarshir Empire. During the early days of the Tarshir, when Torohnuq ruled over them, many of the high priests and great warriors hungered for the power of their Runaric god, and during a sacrificial ceremony they tricked Torohnuq, slew him, and devoured him, and they became demigods. It is not known what happened to the node of Torohnuq's Celesvena. This fractured society, and wars ravaged the lands for generations until some of the Reliqus formed a pantheon together and formed a great empire around themselves.
Today, the Tarshir are united under common goals: They wish to expand the Tarshir Empire (especially against the Jatthirae Empire), and desire vengeance against those who betrayed them and their gods in the past, such as the Bonecladden giants to the south. The Cults oversee the extraction, usage, and trade of Tar, and the cult leaders gain power by using this tar to burn their Dead follower, which absorbs the mind. The remaining ash is then made into a brick, which is added to special cultist temple structures.
There are ten primary Reliqus who form the pantheon. Some say the number of Reliqus is greater, but some were slain, some are kept in secret prisons, and some were exiled and changed their names.
