Ashurnuq

Ashurnuq was one of the most powerful Eah. He was a being of fire, sought destruction through catharsis and loss, and represented emotion. He is associated with Aberrants and Ophidians. He did not survive the Enlightenment.

Ashurnuq, The Infernal

Ashurnuq's initial rule was chaotic: mountains were constantly being shattered and split, fire erupted, lava spewed forth and spread across many lands, and smoke and ash choked the skies. The Nanhasur Kingdom was soon formed under his rule. Ashurnuq grants a select few with power so great that they towered over other Irisqir, and these chosen ones became known as the Gutjatar, but they inherited not only some of Ashurnuq's power, but also some of his temper and greed, and they rebelled against him. Ashurnuq exiled them and sent them southward, and kept his remaining Irisqir firmly under his thumb.
Ashurnuq's death during the Enlightenment was catastrophic. The Murajar, Ariaf, and Murtiri mountains are scars left by Ashurnuq's volcanic demise, and the Nanhasur Kingdom was reduced to rubble. Two Runar emerged from his remains. Torohnuq was west of the mountains, and Umaruq was east. Torohnuq ruled over the people there and called them Tarshir, and they were forever scarred by the eruptions caused by Ashurnuq's death. Umaruq's people became the Duskari and Jatthirae, and Umaruq, being much milder in personality than Tarshiri, watched over his new people.
