Antechrystals

Alchemy has been a sacred art among the Alchemists of Ibrium for a very long time, and the key ingredient in alchemy is the antechrystal. They were discovered by the legendary alchemist, Omnefia Ukramun, by accident, when he was trying to reverse the devastating effects of Chrystals on the human body. He didn't succeed in undoing the damage that chrystals do, but he did discover a byproduct of a certain procedure involving chrystals. The first antechrystal was powdery and pale and lacked potency, but modern antechrystal is refined and valuable, a superior version of its accidental origin.   Antechrystal is a translucent, crumbly, shimmering, turquoise crystal. It has a cool colour often compared to a beautiful sea-green hue. Unlike chrystals, antechrystals do not emit any sound, nor do they grow and corrupt organic material, but they do emit light under pressure. Ibriumite alchemists have perfected the art of creating antechrystal lights by trapping small shards in glass, which are a reliable source of consistent light ranging from weeks to months. As stated, in powdered form it is the primary ingredient in Ibriumite alchemy.
