Monthly Challenges

Article Commentary
Grand Tower of the Merchant Mages Tower of Power - February 2019
My first challenge entry and the reason for Challaria being created, for the other world I had at that time was unsuited to many of the things that were challenge material. This article saw me start getting addicted to using layers in maps though the map itself was not great (learning - Powerpoint is not a good mapping tool).
The Legend of Carron's Daughter Death of a Legend - March 2019
A story from the early days of the Moran Duchy which took a classic legend and added a bit of a twist. This also saw me inflicting poor quality artwork and debatable folk music on my unsuspecting readers. Moderately successful despite that.
Orris The Colony Challenge - April 2019
Using map layers to show the town's development worked well but was a struggle with the way Wonderdraft handles layers. This article also saw me getting a bit more experimental with the layout and using the full footer to give a broader section.
Log of the Whaler Lady Njoragh Documents of Discovery - May 2019
Only one layer on the map this time - but markers and a route. This also saw pictures of the manuscript with a transcription for where the hand writing got iffy. The burnt edge gave some interesting lacunae (a cracking little "word of the day").
Duchy Currency Coins and Currency - August 2019
An attempt at a solid working currency that was probably a bit too pedestrian. A bit more in the way of pictures than most but I think it needed something more to "grab" as part of a challenge. A lesson there for me.
Connor Tarra-Caddick Premier Politician - September 2019
The story of a poor boy made good through negotiation, skills at the boring bits of military logistics and devotion to his country. Whilst happy with the text even I have to admit is needed some more pictures.
The Twisted Heart Killings The Cold Case Challenge - October 2019
A return to Morton for the tale of a series of killings, never resolved but much speculated on with rumours of conspiracies and misdeeds in high places. Nothing new with the presentation for this one but it saw the role out of some (very limited) custom CSS for the world.
