Burrowken
Found in almost every drakisss crew the Burrowken is responsible for the colony's quarters (the burrow) - their construction, maintenance and security. This is a role that calls for a level headed Drakiss who takes a long term view of things and is not swayed by the priorities of the day, the year or even the generation for a poor decision can have consequences for the crew's wellbeing over many generations.
Depending on the size of the crew, a Burrowken will typically split their responsibilities across several function based teams - with a three way split of miners (who construct the burrow as well as carry out any mining for metals or minerals sought by the crew), the maintainers (dealing with the decoration and maintenance of the burrow and its equipment) and the guards (responsible for security of the burrow and internal order).
The Burrowken frequently has the role of judge or magistrate within the crew - though this role is also often filled by the Writken (favoured by their knowledge of the history of their crew and the collective history and knowledge of the drakiss), the Scaleken (favoured by their close links to the Drakkun) or the Crew Leader themselves. Most drakiss see this role as the natural perogative of the Burrowken, as a disinterested individual concerned with the crew's long term wellbeing but some are not well suited to the role and politics can play a big part in drakiss society just as any other.
