Structure
There are three levels in the Tower, each according to three ranks, The Masters, the Students, and the Novis.
the grades of the Order
the Novis
Since most people introduced to the Order are children, the Novis are usually what rank you're given until you take the trials, and be at least the age of thirteen. Their main job is to learn the theories of magic, What responsibility they have and why it is dangerous. Novis gets golden braisers called "Closers" making it impossible for them to use and wield magic arts. Older Novis get the opportunity sometimes to watch magic preform. They have to be found worthy to move on to the next step.the Students
The Students are the once who are really starting to learn about their powers. Students get silver braisers who sustain their magic to a minimum, making them able to practice and train on their magic on a small scale. Each year, the silver braiser loses power in order to make the practice more real, and more challenging. However, if a student does not behave, he will get a not removable golden braiser. From the age of sixteen, the student can be appointed a personal tutor from the Masters. When that master think the student is ready, they will prepare for the final stage into the Masters.the Masters
the Master rank of the Order of Maigal has three "lineages" or factions. the Council Lineage, the Sage Lineage, and the Gathering Lineage. The Lineage determines your final role in the order. The Sage Lineage teach the next generations of mages in the values of the Order, the gathering Lineage travels all over Eldercrest to gather, there hence the name, potential Mages, Warlocks or Wizards. The Council Lineage is, in reality, a step further in the Order, since only a handful of Sagers or Gatherers will ever be in the Council Lineage. The only chance of ever being inside the Council, you have to be appointed by someone within the council and got a majority vote in favor.Public Agenda

the tragedy of Marrys
During the reign of Erkin I Swan, Emperor 125 - 175 AF, a catastrophe occurred involving mages practicing the forbidden art of blood magic, 140 AF. An act of carelessness wiped out an entire village in the north in a flood of black blood. Some magicians thought it was a bad thing keeping the mages and wizards looked away in the Tower of Maigal by the orders of the first Pope of the newly founded Eroniumian Church in Eldercrest to learn how to control their powers and not be a threat to the society. When they were on the run they tried to make a stand against the Inquisition's knights in order to get some rest in the nearby village of Marrys, but a miscalculation and a magical experiment went awry in an unstable explosion of dragon blood. The dragon blood, toxic to humans and elves, melted husbands, wives, and children, all innocent people alongside with the mages and the inquisition knights.the Reaction
The gatherers needed to have bodyguards in order to leave the Order and struck, therefore, a deal with the Duke of the North, the reigning enforcer of the will of the Emperor, letting the gatherers envolve in their politics in order to gather the children born with magic, so that they would not be killed."We go against the flow"
