The Altorii at a Glance
The real-world inspiration come from the early Caledonii -- the pre-Scoti Celtic-Pictish peoples of lowland Scotland. Known for a rich pictographic history, innovative housing and use of raw materials, these people dwelt from the Pictish Orkneys down to modern Northumbria.
Lest we assume them peaceful agrarian folk, it should be remembered that it was this clannish, insular people who so bedeviled the Romans, they built not one but two walls to hinder them -- Hadrian's and the Antonine.

As the dominant race on Thestra, the influence of the humans is felt on all corners of the continent. They lack the size of the Lesser Giants, the life span of the Elves or the sturdy resilience of the Dwarves but they make up for it with an overwhelming desire to succeed, a bold tenacity and perhaps most importantly, the ability to adapt.

The Altorii are the native humans of Thestra, once common across the entire continent. They tend to be slightly smaller than average for humans, hirsute, and with hair colors ranging from dark brown to reds and dark blonde. Eye color tends towards brown, with some hazel and green.
