Session: 12 Below a Princess Awaits Report

General Summary

12th of Roelir Continued
The first few hours after the party finished talking to Steve they started to use their evening downtime for various different research possibilities. Reign went back to the inn to get her Jeweller's kit, while many started to read at the library.
Fargrim read up on Eardoth in a war book after asking Steve about the dragon statue in the sewers, Karl took the time to identify items, Lily looked into Anubis and Lyra continued reading her own book.

Reign returned and identified the gems as red spindles with an estimated worth of 100g each, but upon closer inspection the seem to turn and click much like a safe. Methods tried:

• 5 CW, 6 counter CCW, 10 CW, 2 CCW on Left eye.
• 4 CW, 7 CCW on both eyes.
• 4 CCW, 7 CW on both eyes
• Pushing eyes

Karl went up to talk to some of his colleges while Fargrim and Reign left to do some sparing. Just over an hour later Lyra and Lily leave to go back to the inn for dinner. They have a chat with Fargrim and get Xeldarix's swords back from him before leaving again.
Meanwhile Reign went to the town hall to do some of her own research. There she researched the temple of Avani and the sewers. She came across media articles for both topics, before going to see Captain Galloway and discuss where the matters of the Unchained now leave them with the serial killer dead. This discuss who threatened him and Lady Sasha, and how this connects to a man named Keith Dread who has Galloway's Goddaughter as his ward currently which gives him cause for concern as the girl in not mentally stable.
Karl finishes his work at the Mage Guild, checking in at the inn before going to his family's house. As he reaches the house he uses "Sending" to send a message to Xeldarix. She replied saying something had happened to Lily and Lyra at the abandoned temple of Avani in town and she was unable to get to them.
Upon receiving this reply, he went and got Fargrim, who rallied Reign via "Sending" and they all headed off to the temple. They arrive at the temple and enter. It's a mess with destruction, including a big hole in the floor with a desk in the basement where Lily and Lyra fell through from the second floor.
Meanwhile Lyra and Lily hide for fear of who was searching the temple, but relax upon seeing it is their friends and come out to greet them. The pair reveal that someone is scrying on Xeldarix and that they were working on trying to find her a better place to move to. They also mention that Xeldarix is recovering right now, limiting what she can do. The group agrees to investigate the temple more more the next day, but Fargrim and Reign leave while Karl, Lily and Lyra stay. The trio talk to and assist Xeldarix before retiring for the night.
13th of Roelir
The next morning the party have a quick breakfast and briefly speak to Dill about the idea of hopefully learning more to help his betrothed Holly after their outing today. Then they leave to go meet Steve. On the way Lily notices they are being followed, probably members of Éla's Suppression of Shadows. Likely a priest and thief.
At 6am they arrive at the Mage's Guild and are allowed entrance into Sunnis temple through a hidden entrance in Steve's office. He warns you of the dangers and if he has to intervene that they will fail.
Going down the stairs the party notice that the pillars at the bottom of the stairs have Masesian writing on it and Sunnis' symbol on the two furthermost away from where they came in. Slowly, they explore the temple, finding clues that lead them directly to Sunnis and her chamber.
Outside there were offering left for Sunnis and some of them seemed to be from Steve's kids. Karl picked up one of the staves thinking it would help open the stone doors, to which the stone statues that led up to her chamber had moved and were watching Karl due to touching something that was not his. After Sunnis chastises him, he is quick to return the item.
During a conversation with Sunnis she tells them more about the help she would like from them, a trial to remove creatures from her temple and about Elaran Shyr who was the last one to successfully complete the trial.
After leaving, they started to explore the temple. They fought 3 different type of air elemental in total and found 5 items (unidentified gems will be added to the rewards section once identified).
The first group of elementals went down causing minor damage. The second encounter ended with one of the elementals running away after being frightened. The final one was with a smaller elemental which also ran away after being frightened. However, once the remaining elemental was defeated the party went into the room they had been hiding in and took a short rest.
