Worldbuilding Awards 2025 Submissions

I've been a bit absent these last few months -- I'm in my last year of school and it is DEVOURING all of my time, and most of my energy. I have so many articles to catch up on and comments to reply to, if I haven't gotten to yours, I'm sorry D:
But I am super excited about this year's worldbuilding awards!! I have some really cool articles that haven't been in the awards before, and I really believe in their strength. Without further ado, here's what I've gone and submitted to the competition this year! I've also added a few words of my own thoughts on these articles too, if you're interested :D

BEST ARTICLE

I think this is one of the best articles I've written in years :D It was so much fun letting my thoughts and feelings on my own current academic trials come out into it, and I think I built something extremely atmospheric overall.

ARTIST'S CARTOGRAPHY AWARD

The Veiled Campus Map

This map is an in-universe exploration of this Academy's incredibly secretive and confusing grounds. Written and drawn by student Helen Craigg as a tool to help her, and new students, figure out where they're going within this dark campus.

The map for my best article! I have been really loving a white-sketch-on-black-base kind of aesthetic these days, using it in my architectural studies as well as my worldbuilding explorations. This is an in-universe, non 4th wall breaking map, and I think that lets me pack in a lot of character to it.

HEART & MINDS

I can't believe I hadn't submitted this one before! This is the strongest community I think I've ever written, it's a group of people that really respect and love eachother, enough to make moving an entire village twice a year possible. They share, communicate well, and work together, and I love that about them.

RISE OF NATIONS

Anabelle is my strongest, and in my opinion, most frightening character. She is so incredibly determined to build the world that she imagines. Her article details her rise to power, the way she works and manipulates people and organizations around her.

WONDROUS NATURE

This was probably one of my longest ongoing article creations ever. I really felt it was a work in progress, as I kept slowly adding to this article -- especially because I didn't even have all the art done for all the god-husks in the beginning! They even keep getting updated as I redesign and rework some of them. It's finally ready for the awards now!

STRENGTH AND HONOR

Okay for real, I think it's hard to be emotionally stronger than the world's most unlucky person who still manages to keep pushing onwards with a positive outlook, despite the trials he goes through. This one is a choose-your-own kind of article, with multiple paths for Thomas to explore as he runs from his latest bout of bad luck!

PILLARS OF PROGRESS

I LOVE how much this one organization impacts and shapes Cathedris, and the characters within it. There have been so many interesting story hooks and drama points that I've thought of after writing this place, and it was such a joy to expand upon the horrors within the Legion while writing this.

MYTHS & LEGENDS

The event that started it all! Sort of, I mean, this wasn't my first article here but it is a detailing of the war that brought about Cathedris's current timeline. One of my older entries here, but every time I go back and look at it, I smile. I just love the design and the character throughout it. And, it's another "article" written by "Gideon Hale", the man who brought us the Days of Creation picture book!
