A Lonely Road
General Summary
After saying their goodbyes to Oliver and Fizzik and receiving a last minute identify, the party made their way north to Tafoder Trading Post.
As they traveled, they noticed the road was empty for much of their travels, they passed a single dwarven figure named Grimmold Frosthammer the first day. After some discussion with Caldwell, He shared he was formerly a member of the Slovenian military but was sent into exile after being caught attempting to help a family move across the border without going through the military checkpoint. He admitted to being part of a rebel group under the leadership of Torva "Tusk" Icefang who believed the Slovenian army had been corrupted and the treatment of the merchants and other travelers was unjust. He told the party to search for Torva if they plan to cross the border themselves.
That evening, Besella heard a large creature push heavily against the door, but when it didn't budge, she saw the figure walk off into the night though unable to clearly discern what type of beast it was. A dust storm picked up the next day making travel difficult, and no other travelers were seen once more. That night, Gourm and Caldwell noticed a glint of metal as someone appeared to be picking the lock to get into the cabin. Caldwell successfully flummoxed the lockpicker but not without his interference being noticed. Immediately, the doors began thudding with heavy blows as two large lizard creatures began slamming into the outer walls to break into the cabin more forcefully.
Stela noticed a third assailant further behind that was humanoid in nature. They sent a message out to ask what they wanted and a serpentine voice responded "Sarthak is hungry". Meanwhile, the others prepared themselves for fighting if the creatures broke through the wall.
