Poiji (POY-jee)

Mostly herbivorous rabbit ecomorph, with a bounding gait. The hind legs are large and powerful. The middle legs are similarly built, but smaller and shifted medially and forward onto the chest, allowing them to swing without interfering with the hindlegs. The forelegs are much smaller, and set high on the sides, angled laterally, for mobility.   The similarity to rabbits carries through to their reproductive strategy as well. They reproduce often and in great numbers, because they are prey for a great many other animals. They are also surprisingly fragile, and many accidentally cripple or kill themselves, which makes the predator's job that much easier.   Poijis do not have the long ears that rabbits do, and they only have the standard three sensory stalks, with both eyes and ears on them. Since the front legs are the most flexible, they also serve as antenna, being held aloft with toes spread.
