Kowara's Keys

For Avatar Kowara and Kowara's Shrine, there are four keys, one for each of the levels of the shrine. This is for the descriptions of all of them. They're meant to be both part of a dispay elsewhere, to provide a map of how the puzzle is meant to be solved, and to slot into the door itself as a key to start off the puzzle in the first place.

Water

The first one. Comes with the reminder haiku
Ocean's boundless strength
Ivory balance insight
Pipes in center stone
So that whoever goes to find it can figure out which thing they need.
As such, the key is a plate-sized circle of whalebone fitted into a mural wall for a famous firebender arm-wrestler. It's carved with a pattern that shows the way the water is meant to flow through the pipes, and when it's fitted on the door, this depresses a few of them so they're in the right spot for the water flow. It's weathered and painted over in spots to match the stone mural it's meant to go with. It used to spin, and is now stuck in a slightly askew position.
