Queen Iscora's Chestplate
In her reign, Queen Iscora of Laspos set about to grow her kingdom into an empire. Two major wars were started as a result of this ambition: the War of Twixts Straight, and the Great War of Atilel.
While she had little direct involvement in the war with Crecia, it is well documented that Iscora was frequently on the battlefield with her warriors as Laspos expanded its borders over Atilel. Queen Iscora was actually versed in magecraft; there are to this day tales spread about how she decimated enemy ranks with her magics.
As a gift, Queen Iscora's favourite lover bestowed upon her a finely-crafted set of armour. It was of the highest quality dark steel with gorgeous teal Luxtalt filigree that actually had several power and protection runes inlaid on the surface. It is said that she never appeared before her council without wearing it. Though the rest of the pieces have been lost, the breastplate is treasured greatly among the Lasposan peoples and is passed between each coliseum in the empire, taken to a new one every year, to oversee and bless the children taking their trials of adulthood.
Significance
The chestplate holds a lot of cultural significance for the people of Laspos. Queen Iscora is revered as the one who brought Laspos from a kingdom to an empire, as well as for her actions on the battlefield. Rather than sit and command her troops from the safety of the rear, Iscora was often found near the front lines fighting alongside her warriors.
