The Conflict

Prelude

The kingdom of Laspos was past its heyday. The economy was slumping and Queen Iscora was desperate to help her people and itching for a fight. Countries around Laspos were under hard times as well, with some experiencing bad harvests and others suffering under ineffective rulers. It was decided that the best course of action for everyone was for Laspos to expand its borders and assimilate those other countries into itself, under the belief that together they could support each other and prosper. Only two countries accepted the deal, the rest resisted the assimilation.

Battlefield

Everything on the continent of Atilel was targeted and fought over. Spreading from the original borders of Laspos, out across the land, the war moved like a wildfire.

Outcome

After the assassination of Queen Iscora, the campaign ground to a halt. Administrative authorities of Laspos had already grown weary of the war, and national morale plummeted with the death of their beloved queen. War industries were halted, causing a temporary recession as soldiers had to readjust to everyday lives and manufacturers had to shift their production from war efforts to ordinary endeavors, or be shut down entirely.

Aftermath

After recovering from its recession, the overtaken countries of Atilel came to find prosperity under the umbrella of the newly established Lasposan Empire. Trade between cities flourished as the former countries adopted the Lasposan currency, and industry and employment bloomed as the infrastructure Laspos' capital was famous for was introduced in all the major cities around the empire.

Historical Significance

Legacy

The people of Laspos remember Queen Iscora as a hero for making Laspos into an empire. While the war has left its scars, most people you ask will agree it did more good than bad in the end. Some individuals have taken inspiration from the campaign, including Emperor Rolen, and wish to complete the work Iscora had begun; to unite the continent under one empire.
