Silvarion (silv-air-eon)
Lord of the Forests, Fairies, and Druids
Silvarion is the Lord of Forests and fairies, as well as the creator of the Silvan language. The Lord of Forests governs all forests across the mortal plane, and specifically focuses on maintaining balance between the Flora and Fauna of the woodlands. Contrary to what would be assumed by a cursory understanding of this deity, he does not oppose the cutting down of trees, or the existence of civilized races in his forests, as he sees them as a part of the natural balance of the world. However, he does oppose over-forestry, and the needless destruction of natural woodlands.
To aid him in his stewardship, Silvarion created the fairies and their language, Sylvan . The fairies draw their power from the forests that they inhabit, and as such from Sylvarion himself. Sylvarion is one of the few Fey Lords that actively draws their power from the strength of their place of origin, giving both him and the Fairies that serve him an incentive to be ever-vigilant, else their own magic power decrease. The language of the fairies quickly ended up becoming the language of the Fey Court, and of much of the Flora and Fauna of the mortal plane.
Silvarion is also the Lord to which many druids pray to, and the deity that protects the forests of the druid circles directly. As such, he has an affinity for the mortal druids themselves. a particularly faithful and skillful druid may even receive an offer from Silvarion to join his spirit retinue in death, following him and fighting alongside him in his defense of the forests for all time and living with him inThe Feywild.
