Myzea
The mountain hold of Myzea is also know as the city of a thousand fires, referencing the industrial nature of the city. Nestled into The World's Edge Mountains, the city has access to the continent's largest sources of metal ores of all kinds. Before the disintegration of the empire, forgemasters from across the continent would travel to the city to hone their crafts, and without the civil war, may have entered into an sort of industrial revolution. The city had even begun to use coal powered machines, and harness steam power. however, these endeavors also required that enhancement of metals using enchanting, which was copiously expensive. So when the empire broke and many denizens fled back to their home nations, the city also couldn't afford to spend resources on such frivolous pursuits, and turned solely to producing arms and armor for the armies of the The Eastern Calradian empire.
the city is nestled in a long valley in the middle of The World's Edge Mountains, and most of the city actually spans underground for many miles. These natural defenses have meant that, despite it's remote location, the city has little need to waste massive resources in it's own defense. Thus, those who are not actively involved in the production of arms and armour, are largely free to pursue whatever trades they wish. Myzea is a center of dwarvish artistic music, art, and culture, as bagpipes and drums can be heard echoing from the taverns throughout the city. In addition, the brewers guild of Myzea brews some of the most renowned ales anywhere, using a mix of grains purchased from across the known world.
It was here that many of the imperial cannons were housed in massive armories, and many of those with the expertise to use them are still trained here. The armoury here still has the largest number of concentrated cannons on the continent, with three. They are stored here because the city is far from a nexus of the winds of magic, reducing to a minimum the risk that a magical accident could cause a cascading disaster that would result in the enchantments holding the cannons to be breached, causing an explosion of energy of a kind that the people of the continent have never seen.
Demographics
