Dunglanys
Dunglanys, the 'Rock of Glanys', stands on a high crag overlooking Loch Munremair , the pool of darkness at the heart of The Battanian Confederacy lands. It was named after an ancient queen who, legend has it, married in succession five high kings of Battania, bestowing sovereignty upon them. It is the center of the rituals that underpin Battanian kingship, and though not every Battanian high king has ruled from here, all are eager to hold it. A current of water runs from it's peak, but it doesn't not seem to have a source, and is considered to be the magic of a forest spirit or Fey entity.
The population of the place is actually quite low, as the city is more of a symbolic place than a productive one. Most of the City is actually underground, inside the crag, in order to avoid destroying the Wyldwood and hills that surround it. It stands as a resting place and watchtower over the Western edge of Loch Munremair, which is the least forested and most hilly. In addition, many druids pray and train here, as it is considered a holy place to those who gather their magic from nature or the Fey. Many druids will make pilgrimages here, as not only are the waters of the city's never-ending stream considered to bestow magical powers, but even surviving the trek through the Wyldwood is a true test of faith in yourself and in nature.
Finally, the city has a higher elven population compared to other Battanian cities, with a majority of the populace being elves.
